If any of you spar, try to emulate Edwards striking style of feints,jabs, leg kicks and having the hands up. He does everything correct and his distance management is perfect.

Covington was clearly afraid of Edwards. His fight never caught up with his mouth.
I think he knew how skillful Edward's elite striking is that he knew I couldn't capitalize with just cardio/wrestling
He over respected Leon striking IMO, he had most success when he took chances

Had Jorge not sucker punched Colby post 272 we may have gotten him vs khamzat as a title eliminator at either the ABC card in July which Yair and Ortega headlined or a big fight for 279 instead of Diaz. I’d also say Usman losing to Leon opened up this outcome certainly 🤷🏽♂️

I doubt it’s intimidation either because he’s the last person to freeze up like that infront of Trump. Either ring rust or the broken foot that made him inactive this fight. Hopefully we’ll figure it out in his next fight.

He had a takedown in this fight where u can tell he was hurt. It looked like a labored movement we see from ppl who r injured. He also look down at that foot after the first round. Regardless, it was a bad look after a long time away. He needs to get back in there asap and give us a vintage performance

I actually believe Belal will beat Leon with constant pressure and grappling exchanges. Leon is clearly skilled in all aspects of MMA except for wrestling cardio. If Belal pushes the pace wrestling and pressure, he will tire Leon out. Colby at the end showed how fatigued Leon was and if he wrestled in the first round we'd have a different outcome that wasn't so lopsided. Again, Leon is technically superior to most welterweights but his grappling cardio is his biggest weakness.
