- Originally "Fly Me to the Moon" was a pop standard song written by Bart Howard in 1954. "In Other Words" was the original title for the song and Felicia Sanders introduced it in cabarets. The song became known popularly as "Fly Me to the Moon" from its first line, and after a few years the publishers changed the title to that officially.
This is one of many variants used as the credits theme in Neon Genesis Evangelion.
This variant of Fly Me to the Moon is performed by Claire and Megumi Hayashibara.

+Kinky Sketch The original series is held in pretty high regard. In my opinion the first half can be pretty slow and a little too shounen for me, but it builds up to the second more psychological half perfectly. I only saw the first Rebuild film and parts of the second one. I felt like the pacing was better, but haven't heard good things about it after the first. If you're unsure about checking out Eva, I recommend Gunbuster, another mecha by Anno that's only 6 episodes, to see if you like his style.

+Kinky Sketch The Rebuild movies are good, but 1.11 is almost entirely the same as the first part of the original series with a few changes and better animation. Since the 4th part of Rebuild isn't out, I don't have a super good opinion of it as a whole, but so far I definitely prefer the original series more. (I also have extreme nostalgia of watching NGE on VHS as a kid)

@@nesquik4556 doesn't help he's likely dealing with naturally bad mental health. No mom, estranged father, and probably depression. I would definitely break as many times as he did, but for different reasons. We have our hang ups and problems. All you can do in the end is just try to continue.
But which version is better; the original, Evangelion's version or Bayonetta's version?
