As always such a pleassure to hear you comment and watch you drive👍. Great vid Vas! You seem to enjoy the hobby more now with less "pressure", i'm glad to see that. On the critic side, I miss the tempgun! would have been perfect to take some temps after a few minutes of hard running there at the end! Best regards// Manuel Mårtensson
Negerskog Thank you so much for the kind words and support. Yeah, I forgot about the temp gun, I don't normally remember it with stock cars, but I try to remember it once I start to change gearing or mod the cars in any way. I'll try to remember to use it regardless, it seems to help a lot of people out. Cheers.
Aussie RC Playground Seems fair👍. I like to see temps because I live in Northern Sweden and we have about 15-20C in the summer and I never get away without a fan! But on the other hand, your bash spots are mostly flat with packed sand/dirt, mine are gravelpits/sandpits where you constantly are going up and down the piles. If i would like to talk to you about something but not write here in the comments, where could i get ahold of you? I totally understand that you can't won't leave a skype link or email adress here in the comments, but what if I leave mine? Or is there a better way?
Purchased two of these for my grand boys. Had for awhile. Sure does need the 3s to be fun. Am very impressed with the quality of them for the price. Are proving to be very durable. The body will suffer first. Boys have lots of fun and I have not spent a thing on repair cost. Very impressed with them. Has me looking very serious at the truggy they have and wonder if it would be a good investment. Sure would like to see a review on the1/8 Hyper Truggy. Maybe HoBao is under rated and not well know yet, i.e. a sleeper.
Thanks, forgot you did a review. How has it stood the test of time for durability. Looking at a Tekno Truggy kit. Can have two of the SST's for same price, BUT want something that does not break every time you run it, like the Vorza. It has proven the toughest rc we have found yet. Any thoughts on which way to invest, and invest it is. Thanks. Enjoy your reviews a lot. Very helpful.
I put a castle 1415 in mine with a mamba monster X because I had them extra from another vehicle and it runs great on 3s. I think I need to play with the diff oil and shock springs but other than that I'm pretty impressed with the roller version. I've been told that some STRC upgrades along with aluminum wheel hexes are a must if I'm going to push the truck hard but I want to give it a day or two at the track first. I'm looking forward to see how you upgrade and tune yours so I can steal your experience 😊
Had to come back here...been in the hobby 20 years..have had lots of the new stuff arrma etc..etc...I really think I wanna order another hyper 10sc...do u think it would be worth it for light bashing...????..I had 2 years ago.
Hey Vas in one of your 10Sc video you answer to someone that the battery tray only can be move to the back like 10mm but is not correct ,you can move it 2" further to the back!!!! It has the holes for it, and it jumps very well that way!!! Hope you Father gets well.
Great video and thanks for sharing. Looks like the same stinginess as with the Turnigy trooper pro 4wd with its 2080kv motor. Simply upgrade the motor to a 3800kv and upwards and that car will show its real value. I've also got the Huanqi 741 4wd 1/10 scale running with a 4370kv motor on 2s it's superfast but on 3s it's out of control lol
Looks like it's running a 380 size motor in a 540 outer case pop a 3660 in it should be better that would be good in a mini 8 or savage xs size car lol. Did you have the battery in rearward position? Is there room for that?
+RC Car Club No room in the tray to really have an effect on weight bias, so it is what it is. This is a short 3650 motor and it's geared way low with a 10T pinion. I've put a 17T in it now (it's all I had with 3mm hole and MOD1 pitch). A lot faster, obviously, but now I'm worried I'm gonna cook the motor... we'll see when drive it next.
The 4250kv 4P from HK would work nice with this, Also a 4p Blue can 'eBay Special' will go like a scolded cat. I'm sure you have your own plans, Already
Hi Vas, certainley takes a beating! Was the dinosaur on the grass at 2:15 some kind of easter egg? Reminds me of the DHK Hunter BL, which i bought after your review. Bash, Break, Repair, Repeat!
+Sean Baker Dinosaur? I had to go back and watch it, and you're right, there's something on the ground that looks like a dinosaur. LOL. I never even noticed it... But yeah, could be an Easter egg linked to Toy Story and Pixar in some way. LOL I just to figure out what it is...
+Sean Baker Haha. Hey, that's actually a really good idea... hmm, I think you've planted a seed, might do something like that in the future for a giveaway or something. 👍🏼
Aussie RC Playground, cool stuff. I don't charge royalties 😂 I'll be sure to look out for upcoming ideas 😉 great to have you back by the way 👍 Take care fella.
Caeli G rigsby Depends what performance you want out of it. I'd recommend a 3650 brushless motor at 3800kv and above but no more than 4300kv as it gets ridiculously fast!
Caeli G rigsby A good all round esc. Should be Waterproof at 60A. You could get the motor and Esc as a bundle to save you a headache in case the bullet connectors are of incompatible size between the motor and esc as they usually come with either 3.5 or 4mm bullet connectors
Hobbywing 10BL60WP is the standard 60amp ESC. I bought a roller so I ordered a Surpass KK series waterproof motor 4Pole 3660 3500kv. 15T pinion. Setting it up for track
+killmore75 Nope. Both hands are free to drive. ;) It's just a bit of movie magic. Haha Just kidding... I have a video up on my channel I did a few years ago explaining how I do it. Feel free to check it out.
The truck has no problems at all handling 3S. I happen to have this truck running Hobbywing 120AMP ESC with 1/8 scale brushless motor and has no problems what so ever handling the power with everything else left stock.
+Trent Marlowe I'd still pick this for the durability and reliability. And if you saw my unboxing and paid attention to how well this truck comes equipped, you would too. Or at least you'd buy the roller and fit it out with your choice of electrics. The Slash is all plastic, high centre of gravity and is nowhere near as tough. I'm 100% confident that nose landing would have resulted in a trip to the hobby shop that day if I were driving a Slash. I'll bet $$$ on it.
Aussie RC Playground I agree the roller looks like the best deal here, but I still think you're underestimating the durability of the Slash. I'm no Traxxas fan boy but I think as an out of the box proposition the Slash looks better goes harder on 2S than the 10SC does on 3S and by the looks of it handles better as well. Add the aftermarket support and availability of parts everywhere and it's hard to top as a basher. Racing is another thing and I don't think either truck is the smart move there. Great review as always Vas and I do like and value your opinion. Just may disagree this time. All the best.
Trent Marlowe I guess, if you're in the US, then the decision is easier as Traxxas are very cheap there, but here, you would think differently. As far as parts support, yes, Traxxas has the upper hand, but not as much as you think. To me, it's double edged sword of sorts - while it's a positive to have great parts support, in Traxxas case, it's also a necessity. Don't know if you know, but I'm now working in a hobby shop and the Slash is by far the truck we repair the most. So when someone asks me about Traxxas reliability, yeah, I'm not going to agree with them because I'm the guy fixing Slashes every damn week. And that's if parts exist in the country. Parts may be in abundance in the US, but here it's not that great. It's far better than HPI, for example, but we're certainly not swimming in Traxxas parts. LOL.
Just adding my 2 cents as a slash 4x4 owner if i could do it all again i eould buy the 10sc every time and it might be faster on 2s but 3s you only gonna get to run 1 pack before either u break an axle( idk how many i broke before going tekno) strip some hex and rip the glue of the tires and even over heat the system mine actually caught fire yea wasnt fun and like vas said its like 500 for an all pladtic truck even the servo sucks also u will melt the plastic motor mount on 3s i spent over 2 grand upgrading that truck to be bullet proof i could have bought an actual car for that money and dont even get me started on how many chassis have broken now that 10sc aluminum chassis very nice the bumperz are reinforced thru the shock towers its just one beef steak and electronics everybody replaceses those either way and for racing i heard and seen plenty of videos were the 10sc does real good its not about knowing if u can win the race its about being able to finish the race and 10 out of 10 i put money on the 10sc and im talking stock for stock them axles are a major weak point
CaliGrown 483 When you make a comment like that without context or validating your opinion based on whatever experience you may have with the brand, it's a tell-tell sign of a troll comment. Usually if someone has an opinion on a product (good or bad), they'll back the claim with something that validates it. Apologies for assuming you're trolling, but can you blame me for doing so?! Not really. Yes, I agree the truck was disappointing to look at, but it's far from "junk" as you do bluntly put it. It needs a tweak or two and some more speed. A change in pinion and tyres has been done, and I'm now tuning the shocks as we speak. So stay tuned for on this one, it'll come good with minimal expense, I'm sure.
BADDAZZ GARAGE Perhaps you should read my reply before making assumptions and you’ll see I agreed with him. If you want to make point and voice your opinion on something, do so like an adult and have a conversation. Don’t make invalidated statements out of context. That’s what trolls do that simply want a reaction and/or attention. Lastly, I don’t know who you are and I don’t recognise your channel name, so I don’t remember any disagreement we may have had.
BADDAZZ GARAGE I’m baffled by what you’re saying as if we have a history... as I said, I don’t know who you are. And I certainly didn’t know he was a sub, so you’re assuming I attacked a sub when I didn’t know who he was. I mean, you’re saying I’m disrespectful, ungrateful and “into myself” or something of that nature...? All I’m doing is sharing my experience with these toy cars and somehow it’s turning into a situation where I almost feel I should get a lawyer on standby. This whole thing is ridiculous man, I don’t know what I did or said to you as I don’t know who you are, yet you continue to accuse me of being or doing everything wrong. What is your problem with me?

I did a review of the SST Truggy not long ago. ua-cam.com/video/HLDoAqYs4F4/v-deo.html

you need the Delrin spur gear mate it reduces the noise by 70%...cool vid as always Vas
+Mark Vonville Nah, not gonna bother. The noise doesn't bother me. I just want it to be faster...
Thanks for watching Mark. :)

Yes sir definitely needs a SCT power system.
You are the best homie like your videos always keep me on top of my rc game Thanks

Aussie RC Playground, cool stuff. I don't charge royalties 😂 I'll be sure to look out for upcoming ideas 😉 great to have you back by the way 👍
Take care fella.
the speed reminds me of my axial score tt.
Is that motor/esc calibrated properly? Seems to be really slow on 2s?
Yes, it is. It's just not geared right or the system is just too weak for this truck. But this is its top speed on 2S... It gets better on 3S.
Aussie RC Playground ahh ok. Still looks a solid truck elsewhere - great video
I just brought a 4x4 1/10 sct what motor do you guys recommenced (keep in mind i'm on a budget)
Caeli G rigsby Depends what performance you want out of it. I'd recommend a 3650 brushless motor at 3800kv and above but no more than 4300kv as it gets ridiculously fast!

+killmore75 Nope. Both hands are free to drive. ;) It's just a bit of movie magic. Haha
Just kidding... I have a video up on my channel I did a few years ago explaining how I do it. Feel free to check it out.
Awesome video, is it under geared ....
Sounds like it .
+Boosted Rc's Yes, very under geared, but I also feel it might be under powered as well. There are improvements in the pipeline, stay tuned.
Ment great vid
Does anyone know if this truck can run happily and safely on 3s if everything else is left stock?
The truck has no problems at all handling 3S. I happen to have this truck running Hobbywing 120AMP ESC with 1/8 scale brushless motor and has no problems what so ever handling the power with everything else left stock.
This truck needs to be geared up on 2s. Once you do that and swap tires its pretty darnn good.
+Steven Trotter Gearing and tyres are done, now I need to test it again. Hopefully I don't cook the motor...
Aussie RC Playground I'm pretty sure I run 15t on it and its been good for about a year. I run trenches on it.
gday mate did you watch it
Oh dear, why do you ask? What did I miss, do, say...?
oh right i remember you don't watch AFL
+Reckless R/C Oh, were you asking about AFL? A bit random... but no, I don't watch AFL.
sorry
I know your not a Traxxas fan but for $70usd more you can get a Slash 4x4 vxl. No brainer really.
+Trent Marlowe I'd still pick this for the durability and reliability. And if you saw my unboxing and paid attention to how well this truck comes equipped, you would too. Or at least you'd buy the roller and fit it out with your choice of electrics.
