I love this song . It sounds very similar to the sound of "The Official Fiction" album which to me is the best album they ever made
I vividly remember driving home from the 'The Official Fiction' launch event in Melbourne, listening to the whole album for the first time and deciding exactly that - best album they've ever made.

The Official Fiction album is so great - I had it brought over to the UK by a friend in the pre-streaming days and reminds me of my South London share house to this day. For me though, Elsewhere for 8 Minutes is their best. The soundtrack to my depressive teenage years.
Paul Dempsey is just a legend. What a voice.
To think that he didn't really want to sing when the band started. See the difference between the first few EPs and now. This kind of example is what makes me roll my eyes when people say 'I don't have a talent for music', like it's something innate...

I used to have all their eps + early lps on vinyl.. no idea what happened to them. They were amazing. Everything after elsewhere for 8 minutes is more or less the same. 1 tempo moody happy. I liked the angst in their early stuff.

The unsealed roads with the grass embankments look like roads on the back side of the mountain heading down to Silvan from R.J. Hamer reserve which is what made me lean towards The Dandenongs over The Black Spur.

The other parts of the video look like they were filmed on Sherbrooke rd, kallista.
It was the Dandy Ranges 100% SFK used to play in FTG a lot many years ago, no doubt they love the area
