I know he probably doesn't care what the fans think, but I wish we knew what had happened. If it was a legitimate reason (health, management disrespected him, the COVID outbreak etc.), I'm sure most Jackets fans would be more understanding instead of him being absolutely hated by the fanbase. He was a fan favourite before this. Regardless, wish him the best in Winnipeg and hope the trade works out for both teams.

Man has he been a stud early... credit to Laine too... think it was really ridiculous how they were jumped on... 22 years old both of them, changed teams and countries in a pandemic, short seasons, can’t meet/hang out with teammates at all away from the rink... PLD got injured 1st time in his career right after 2 week quarantine... gotta give them some slack... and now they’re both making a ton of people eat their words...

I think the deal with PLD is that he is a big softy. He speaks often about his relationship with his parents and being mindful of stress on them etc. As the saying goes, some players need a kick in the ass and some need a pat on the back. He is the later and Torts style was 100% the kick in the ass option. Just not a match and the young man didnt want to created a media crap storm. but the reporters and the Columbus fans wanted a reason and wanted resolution. They didnt get it and probably never will based on Pierre Luc's character. But thats ok. they can question Laine. He likes to talk alot
