A broken neck, two hip replacements and a broken horse it took two years to fix. This has to be one of the best sporting stories. Needs to be made into a film. FAR too good to fade into obscurity!
I find it mad that this is the same man that cleared nearly 2.5m in 1978 at Olympia and was on my MUM'S shoe jumping annual from when she was a kid way back in 78😂
Still have a tear in the eye when I watch this!! Been following Nick since the 70's in Horse of the Year show and other events. Fabulous achievement!!!
Me too!

Okaaaaay?
Ok dude imma need you to keep your hands down and together, kinda bothering me
:p
@Millie Critchley my thoughts exactly 😂
Do you even know how to show jump at that level.
Horses should not be made to jump over such high obstacles.
What it does to their front feet is horrendous. When they get old , they have bad arthritis and splints and all types of ailments. It's just not fair to any horse. The rider should be madeto jump these extremely high fences on his own.
Horses don't get a medal, like the rider , their name does not go down in history only the egotistical pride of the riders name gets all the metals.
Oh do give over
Many show jumpers are highly competitive into their late teens and even into their 20s, and show jumpers ridden by someone as supremely gifted as Nick Skeleton rarely put a foot wrong. A bad pro, junior, or amateur rider does far more damage to a horse just riding on the flat, and horses pop splints while loose in a field.
