Roxmouth is so real and grounded in his performance which I love. There are several moments in this scene that I could point out. It broke my heart watching him try to embrace Christine when she returns to give back the ring.
Ok, I love her Christine. I wanna see her when broadway reopens. People say her acting is bad? But I really love it. I like how she’s like standing in front of raoul and trying to help him other then sitting there crying.
I've seen Meghan 7 out of the 8 times I've gone to now that she's on Broadway and I absolutely adore her. She's amazing and I personally think she's amazing in the role.
@Iloveboys36 no, that’s not what I ment, I mean sometimes they do nothing, sometimes they go give the death eye at the phantom and sometimes they protect him, it depends if they’re a Raoulstine christine or a erikstine christine
This trio has to be one of my favorites, all of their acting is phenomenal!!!!!! Meghan is one of my favorite christines of all time; she’s fiesty but also doey-eyed, which i love. Roxmouth and leisly are amazing too! They couldn’t have chosen a better cast.
I'm not too keen on Jonathan's angry, violent interpretation of the Phantom. He really throws her around; and when she spins him around for the kiss, he raises his hand to hit her. It's hard for me to sympathize with him after that. I just love how Meghan advances on him at 4:30! I like how Matt struggles a little in the Punjab lasso, rather than just dangling there. I see a lot of interesting technical details in this video. The missing candle was already mentioned. Meg (whose dresser seems to have let her go onstage with her fly down, unless I'm imagining that) is supposed to lift the cloak up to disengage the false head. Instead she pulled it forward, revealing the mechanism and making it snap back with a loud clunk. The seat of the throne looks crooked at the end, too, so I don't think it was set back in place fully, which I've never seen before. There seems to be something different about the lighting, too. Does it look brighter than usual to anyone else?
Very interesting remarks! I like Meghan's advance on the Phantom and Raoul's struggle at the lasso too. Meg's "mistake" at the throne revealed to me, for the first time, the mechanism which allows to the Phantom to disappear, so it seems that the way she pulls it is very important for the trick, which I find very interesting. Your explanations on that were very useful! The lights look brighter to me too, but I think it's beautiful, especially for the smoke. What I have some objections for is about Jonathan's acting. I like his angry Phantom or even violent Phantom, but, in my opinion, he's not too violent considering that there are more violent final lairs like Shanon and Beck's. The fact he attempts to hit Christine when she's about to kiss him reminds me the same movement with the fist that Lon Chaney did in the 1925 film, so it brings to me some vintage Phantom and it doesn't stop me from feeling sympathy for him. I, also, like Jonathan's reaction to "tears of hate" at 03:53 - 04.03 as he doesn't react with anger, but he looks upset and covers his ears unwilling to believe Christine's words. I like to share opinions with other phans, so I meant no offense :)
I personally don’t see Jonathan’s Phantom as particularly violent. Compared to Ramin Karimloo, Geronimo Rauch, Ben Lewis, Tim Howar and others I’d say he’s quite tame. I also don’t think he was raising his hand to hit her at all. If anything, he seemed startled to me. I also thought he seemed to be choking back tears throughout the lair. It’s interesting how we can get such different things out of the same performance!
Wellll Erik IS a crazy, psychotic murderer...sooooo I think roxmouths interpretation was very accurate for phantoms character and personality. Violent, psychotic, sick, twisted, but some what loving inside.
He's one of the youngest, but not THE youngest. That would go to Nicholas Nkuna, who was Roxmouth's alternate in the 2012 South African production and was only 22-23. Roxmouth was 24 or so at that time; he's now around 31-32.
Thank you so much for sharing! One thing i found interesting- when he goes to release Raoul from the noose, does he not have a candle, he just gestures? Is that a whoopsie or just a difference in the world tour production? 🤔 Beautifully performed all around!

Yes!!!!
It really did
Okay, his excitement when she comes back and he goes to hug her just kills me T-T
Please post more Roxmouth - so amazing and hard to come across!
I live for the volume in her wig, oh my gosh

• Purple Panda Playz • most Christine's do that lol I don't think that's why people think it's bad

@Iloveboys36 I’ve seen other people say her acting isn’t very good and her actions are stiff, but I don’t see it

Efi Witch totally agree with you! her connection of phantom is not that simple.

This is gold
That gorgeous voice Mr Phantom 🥰
Thank you for uploading this!!
Wonderful final lair! Do you have the whole show or at least most of the Phantom scenes with this cast?
According to a random trading website, the framerate of this video is exactly 25 FPS.
Really enjoyed this - thx!
Excellent performance by the entire cast. Great singing and acting. Wish Mr. Roxmouth could play the Phantom in Love Never Dies. He would be awesome!
Meghan is such a beautiful Christine!
Melissa McDonald I’d love to see her play Glinda in Wicked
Would love to see them inMOTN!
roxmouth is the best phantom ever
05:18 - Coitada da Meghan. Até eu levei susto! 😂😂
if I'm not mistaken, is this the youngest actor who played the phantom? (he is 24)

Beautifully performed all around!
It's part of the tour! He just slaps the air near Raoul's head and the lasso drops.
Glass Prism got it, thank you! Interesting 😄
Best!
Do you also have the First Lair?
I have the entire show.
😭😭😭
Hi! Do you have the full show? I have been looking for this boot for a while now after watching it live in Manila back in 2019. Thanks in advanced!

I like Meghan and Mat, but Roxmouth? Eh. I personally Brad Little on the tour.
Meh
That was the worst Phantom I've seen. What was that, an upcoming slap when she spins him around? I'd demand my money back after that performance
He's awesome
