  • Extracting zinc from ordinary batteries. Batteries must be ordinary zinc-carbon batteries.
    Zinc is useful for:
    electrodes;
    galvanic anodes;
    zinc-sulfur powder;
    mix with copper to make brass.
    2:52 melting zinc can release fumes that aren't exactly healthy, that's what the mask is for. The zinc melting point is low, so iI made a I made a small bar with approximately 20 batteries. Of course, there are easier ways to get zinc, but it's about recycling.

    Bro.... Go to a habitat for humanity re-store and buy a few door knobs for about .50 -$1 each. The inside may be a bluish color and there you go.. You'll have more zinc than you'll know what to do with for a couple bucks. Just my two

      Zinc chloride is not a metal

      The chloride would be found in alkaline battery sir this is carbon zinc battery
