    So sad to hear about Zef, was lucky enough to meet him at Prescott last year. A brave and charismatic guy.

    Great vid, saw you start that bike at Prescott this year. I was also with the Rev Paul Sinclair (now sadly deceased) when he did his record speed run on his Hayabusa powered motorcycle hearse at Elvington. Looking forward to seeing the Speed TV programme.

    I came here looking because I remember seeing this on TV a while back. Tbh I am not surprised what has happened to the guy! Goes with the territory and extreme risk I guess.

    Okay I'm confused did he invent the Y2K bike or did he take the Y2K bike and add on to it to make it more powerful it was my understanding the Y2K bike was made in United States please explain

    • @HSGAutomotive
      @HSGAutomotive 9 місяців тому

      The Y2K came first in 2000 from Marine Turbine Technologies in Louisiana, main difference with this bike is the single speed, whereas the Y2K uses 2 speeds making its acceleration faster. This one runs around 15 seconds from 20-200 in a vid on YT, whereas the Y2K runs 0-227 in 15. Different turbine as well, though both from Rolls-Royce. The Y2K was from a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter.

    Epic bike and epic crash! I'm saying that as my recovery continues from my own crash in 2011 in a 4x4. I had my right foot smashed (broke in several places between the ankle and the toe knuckle on every toe and two screws in the ball joint bone), badly broke my left ankle (with more metalwork), my knees went through the dash board, my right upper leg tried to go through my hip joint, my left hip/pelvis broke from the seat belt, 6 ribs and sternen broke clean through and moving like piano keys, my chin took out the horn button out of the steering wheel, dislocated my left wrist on the gearstick, and both the bones in my lower right arm badly broken and now has plates and screws for around 8 inches in each bone. The mazda rx8 had ploughed into us at 60 mph with our speed at 30. My drivers door hinges were almost touching the lock and my front wheel was hard against my seat. My partner Lisa Brian who was also in the car with me had horrible injuries too but we are here and keen to start riding motorcycles! I have been told that the pain levels I went through were higher than child birth, well over 30 breaks in 22 bones and no pain killers for 2.5 hours after impact. While we waited to be cut free my partner and myself chatted to each other and kept our spirits high and kept each other calm. On average I can walk 40,000 steps a week and I had been told that I wouldn't be able to walk again, but I'm stubborn! You do get a new perspective on life, you know what matters and what doesn't. :)

      @@retrodigi375 I wish it never happened either. No compensation even though I was 100% not in the wrong. The driver who hit us was fully insured too. The reason for the no compensation was that no one was at fault. The driver who hit my Vauxhall Frontera had a stroke at the wheel, floored the accelerator, the passenger managed to steer it round the corner but the speed meant he hit us with their speed in excess of 60 mph and my speed of 30 in the 30 zone. In the link I'll attach in a minute shows the newspaper report and the picture shows their car and where their front wheel is, is where my foot well should be. My front wheel was nearly touching my hip. The photographer is standing by the spot in my lane where impact happened, we went back 40 feet and landed on the car behinds dashboard.

    I understand how to extract more horsepower out of an engine with pistons. But how do you get more horsepower out of a turbine.
