  • This is a session I recorded Circa 1974 I believe. The quality is very poor throughout, but diehard Stackridge fans will recognise: 'Every Living Hole', 'Spin 'Round the Room' (James Warren vocal), 'The Laughing Policeman' and February in Shropshire (part as my radio signal faded in and out but I'm looking for another copy)
Line-up for the session (recorded around time of The Man in the Bowler Hat release) was:
    Andy Davis-Drums/vocals
    James Warren-Guitars-Vocals
    Crun Walter-bass
Mike Evans-Violin (vocal on The Laughing Policeman-Charles Penrose)
Keith Gemmel (Sax flute and clarinet)
    Rod Bowkett-keyboards piano/organ
Mutter and Billy had left at this point.
    Bear with the audio quality
The images were the best I could come up with considering the surrealist nature of 'Every Living Hole'. I always considered James Warren's rendition of Spin 'Round the Room preferable to the album version of Paul Karas as it had the light and whimsical touch the song required, and spoke to me as one who struggled with social interaction/moderate aspergers. Amazing that Andy Davis took drumming honours on this session-such a versatile and talented musician.
