Thank you for sharing your experience on Granite Peak. I am planning to solo Granite in Aug 2015 and will be assembling as much information as possible regarding the route, hazards, tips and anything that can help ensure a successful trip. Your video of heading up the coulior is very beneficial to me. I will be returning to this video to gather more notes in preparation for my trip. Cheers.

Nice! Was hoping to see some cam on the way down. I hope to attempt someday.

They call the Southwest Coulior "The Bowling Alley" for good reason. Climbing up is not a problem, but coming down was a little scary. Glad we were the only group on the mountain. There were several melon sized rock that took of down the coulior. The scary part is the climb in the coulior is blind. You can't see other groups, so very important to use good climbing communication when a rock gets loose. I do think the south side is the best route and good luck on your climb. I will defiantly be going back to this one, loved it.

Hi Steven, Thanks for posting the video! I was there Aug 16, 2012 and I turned back BEFORE the couloir because of the exposure. I plan on returning in 2014 and now I know exactly what to expect. Do you have any recommendation/tips? How was the downclimb? Also, do you think it'll be advantageous to bring a rope? Thanks, Alex
