What Rack do you run?
Thanks for making this video. Super easy instructions!
Glad it was helpful!
thanks for the video, looks straightforward
Thanks for making this video. I just got this rack and am excited to start using it!
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your new 1up rack!
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the way the hitch lock doesn’t lock it to the hitch, but just covering the special Allen key hole ?
And thoughts on the special key? 😅 I see myself losing that…
Haha! I would MUCH prefer a proper hitch lock. I even had mine ready to go. I think 1up expects you to lose one since they give you 2 in the box haha. Im keeping one in the truck and one in my tool box haha. I think they went that route because of the 1.25" to 2" adapter being pre-installed.
@@MTBRadDad nice ! lol... is there a hole in the actual unit that goes into your hitch? so you could put your own hitch pin in there to lock it in?
@@TheCrashingDad Nope! haha.I will say this though. The rack is in their super solid and there's no play within the hitch area
Beautiful rack. Minimal and looks awesome
how do you know how far to insert into the hitch? and what keeps it from coming out as there is no bolt through holding it in place?
I push in till it’s flush
I have the 1up with the add-on. It’s the top-of-the-line only way to go top quality.
It really is.
Hey, great review. Thanks... Quick question though: do you use the velcro strap for additional security? Or is it needed only when in 1.25" mode?
Thanks! Nope, the only thing I might want to add is the built in bike lock.
Thanks for sharing!
Is this safe for a road bike? I’m running 700c x 28
I love the expanding stinger but that Allen key seems like a pain maybe it’s just me?
Love my 1up heavy duty double. I’m getting an additional tray for three bikes total for a summer trip to Brevard North Carolina and hit up some off road trails since the HD and SD versions are off road rated. What’s great about 1up is no plastic parts to deteriorate or break. And if a part on the 1up needs replacing? You can replace individual parts on the rack.
Yeah its nice how upgradable/repairable it is.
These things are weirdly affordable, even when you start doing another single add on. I only need a single right now, so it's ~~half cost of the Thule/Yak options, and even if I get an add on, that's still less money. AND they're freaking solid. They could prob add ~$150 to th cost and it would still be a great buy.
They really are. I want to add 1-2 more add ons eventually
@@MTBRadDaddoes not having a thru pin , bother you?
can you use this if you have fenders?
Thats a good question, im not really sure/
@@MTBRadDad any update on fenders?
I'm not entirely certain because I don't have fenders. Unlike the Kuat and Thule, however, the 1Up fits the frontmost and rear most side of the tires.....not an arm (Kuat/Thule) that must be fastened all the way at/adjacent to the front fork. So if your fenders do not travel ALL the way around the tire....this should theoretically work. It really depends upon how far reaching around the tire your specific fenders area
@@barbaraflanders9041
I am wondering the same thing. I like my fenders. Also, how wide a tire will this rack accommodate?
They make a protective cover adapter for bikes with fenders. And a tire cover for road bikes with expensive tires.
I was just going to get a thick cable lock and wrap it through the trailer chain loops on the receiver and around the back side of the racks hitch.
Great looking rack, but no bike locking system? Or did I miss that... I did see the rack lock/hitch portion.
They sell that separately for rather cheap
old comment, but they’re $25 sold separately
Just got mine and was wondering if the ball has to go in the hole of the hitch??
If I understand you correctly then, Yes, Its what helps tighten the hitch into the receiver
I absolutely LOVE my 1Up rack. I have the double.
Ill be adding at least 1 add on eventually
@@MTBRadDadmy bike has 700c wheels, would that make a difference ?
So this will only hold 3 total? Is there a 1.25” set up that will hold 4?
I thought they did, but doesn’t look like it anymore
I have a question bro i have 1.25 - 2 quick single rack. but how do i attach my adapter to fit in my 2 hitch receiver?
Theres an L Shaped adapter that screws into the 1.25 hitch. You can see it in 1UP's Video

@@MTBRadDad thanks for the link im jsut wondering how did he attached that L shape to dat rack is there some kind of bolt for that?
@@poa-mr2gh theres a bolt that connects it, mine came preinstalled
no hitch pin?
On this one since it can either be a 1.25" or 2" hitch, i dont think they could of had one.
Incomplete Video, you need to lock it in by tightening up from below.
How so?
@@MTBRadDad He means screwing the pivot lock down, so if the pivot bar ends up disengaging, the rack does not swing down. It is the black plastic screw on the kashima looking center piece under the rack with the spring.

Pro tip to sound professional: stop saying actually.
Actually not a bad idea 😜
I actually think he should say it more
