There is no alternative to Sandpaper, sandpaper gives a nice finish to edges , if you don't have it ,then go without sandpaper it doesn't make a lot of difference , only the thing is try to paste the edges properly. And colour it.

Any size triangle you make but all four should be same size triangles , the more amplitude you take pyramid will be more taller .

It will be big enough i guess for your project and you can carry it easily.

Its not a pyramid. Disliked. A pyramid has 3 sides and does not have a rectangular or square bottom. Also it should look like a equilateral triangle from all sides.
