I was there that night, the intro was because they went from One Vision to Tie Your Mother Down without stopping.
And not forgetting to "take your little brother swimming with a brick"!!! Remember, Brian was also responsible for 'Fat Bottomed Girls'.

That’s actually the end of “One Vision” which they started every concert during “The Magic Tour”
The crazy intro is because it’s a transition from the previous song (One Vision). There’s a combination video which shows more of the crowd reaction. They are just going crazy, like a pulsing mass. In the studio version there are a lot of explosions and the story is that one completely knocked Roger off his platform. Some wild and crazy guys in their early days.😂

Thanks, again - this was the opening song at the first Queen concert I attended -- in January 1978 - in Michigan -- there was a lot of "smoke" and Freddie came out in a loose-fitting, white, karate-style jumpsuit - went right into "Somebody to Love" after that - it was, of course the tour to promote "Day at the Races" - :) And Fred shed the loose suit to reveal his ballet shoes and tights right after it -- unforgettable!

You’re lovely! Your embarrassment made me smile. This song led straight in from One Vision which you’ve already reacted to, but the crowd are in a frenzy of excitement. They didn’t show that here, which is a shame, but it’s there in a video of both songs together. For something completely different I’m going to suggest Exercises in Free Love. John,💖💕👑Tie Your Mother Down was written by Brian in 1976. Wow, seems crazy this song was written so long ago, it still sounds so fresh and when Queen performs this live, as like everything else, it sounds that much more amazing, with so much high energy from all the boys💖💕👑I guess Brian didn't like his girlfriend's family😂😂😂.

I love this soooo much. I play the studio version
at full volume in my car. The opening guitar riff is fantastic and I love seeing Roger do his stuff both drumming and vocally . Brian said this song was written to be lighthearted and he didn’t want to call it Tie Your Mother Down but Freddie got him to use it . Another great reaction from you - oh it will take you ages to get through Queens music - then you could start on Rogers extensive solo catalogue and his work with his side band The Cross. Love to you from me 🇦🇺. Forgot to add that the Saturday night Wembley show is in general better than the Friday night, Friday night they were experimenting with camera angles, sound etc. Saturday night is where , in my opinion , they really blew it away.

Old Friends is one of his solo songs, on a solo album. Happiness ? I think. Nothing to do with his side band .
