This is the time Singaporean have to make the changes it is to long the ruling party is in power and they knows only how to make money and have a higher salary. They don't bother much Singaporean now.
They have high salery is a detergent for corruption like LHL had said the risk is too high with low reward if they choose to be corrupted. That's why Singapore is the least corrupted nation.

Good point from 3:03 onwards. I see the PAP ministers holding multiple appointments i can only imagine that their jobs on the various ministries is to sign on the dotted line, appear during major events and ceremonies. I am glad mothership covered stuffs on the Oppositions. Ministers have to go full time, they will need to spend time walking the grounds and observing what's not done right, not just during festivals and events and election time! They have to hold more meet the people sessions to help the residences in the committee that genuinely needs help. You see the PAP MPS hold multiple positions, chairman lah, CEO lah, Advisor lah, minister lah, senior minister of state lah, minister without portfolio lah, this lah that lah. Please! All the appointments they hold and hog can be passed to other seniors management staff workers in Singapore who deserves the exposure and the promotions. Don't hog so many jobs and appointments. Spend your time in the estate you are voted for and work your ars e right on the problems until they are solved!

As said, retrenchments are going up in an unprecedented crisis. But companies are not required to pay retrenchment benefits when they retrench. Why? This is bec spore employment law does not state it is compulsory for companies to pay retrenchment benefit! It is for them to decide if they are willing to pay to employees who are retrenched.

frankly speaking la. Garment to give 500 monthly to those above 65, these money are peanuts only. Singaporeans got only how many above 65? I think about 500k or so only
1) We are facing an aging population, thus the number of elderly will increase. 2) Let's go with your numbers - 500k elderly with $500 per month. $500X500,000X12=$3,000,000,000 That's 3 billion a year. How do you suggest we get this amount in the future with a declining birth date? 3) CPF already gives them a monthly sum of several hundred dollars, thus what different will it be to them?
the issue is mainly how big of an income the ministers are earning. Not 5, not 10, there are so many of them.. If all of them cut 30% of their pay the people wouldn't even have to suffer that much
@@Banana-cc5rx How many millions do you think you can save from ministers/MP salaries honestly speaking? Let's just put it at 20 million per annum in total for easy calculation. Given the above 500k people that OP had suggested needing help, 20,000,000/500,000 = $40 per annum. You seriously think that's gonna help?
@@Banana-cc5rx While I agree that the pay of the ministers are an issue, there just isn't enough ministers or members of parliament to be able to get the amount of money like OP said. Where do you suggest we can get $3billion a year with that figure set to increase with an aging population? Based on Google, our GDP for the year of 2018 is USD$364.2billion which converted to SGD using today's (29/06/20) exchange rate is SGD$507.14billion. That's 5.92% of our GDP. And with what's happened this year, our GDP is set to decrease and I personally don't foresee us recovering from the covid-19 fallout by next year. The travel industry will still be affected as foreigners will be wary of traveling to other countries. While we might only have just over 43,000 cases as of yesterday (28/06/20), based on cases per million, we are actually in the top 15. This would definitely deter some people from traveling to Singapore.
I was rooting for him 4 years ago in his Bukit Batok Bilateral Election. Hopefully this year, he actually gets elected. Do yourselves a favour Bukit Batok residents and get this man in parliament! 👍

If Elected MP can't hold a job then for sure many will resign.
Totally agree that elected MP should be on full time. That's what serving the constituency is all about. Full dedication. If one is not fully dedicated, why should we vote for him?
Appreciate his tenacity, dedication and passion be a opposition leader.✌️
Actually we should support his party..he got the point in every aspect..let give him a chance to be one of the MPs
Yes, he has been more constructive. Give him a chance to serve.
Thank you Dr Chee. I was so angry when all that was given to us fro the last emergency budget of $33 billion dollars was a $100 rebate for each houshold. That's how the current government view the people, an expendable inconvenience. I was angry because even $200-300 would go a long way the help the very poor when the circuit breaker was extended. But i could not put my thoughts in words. Today you have put across what i felt so eloquently, and very sinceerly. Thank you again Dr Chee for speaking up for the disadvantaged people, especially the elderly who have done so much to build up the country to where it is now.
He's actually making some very good points.
Agree fully with Dr Chee ! MP serving the people but having another job. So where do they set their priority??? No wonder Murali got no time to address the woman who suffered from the fire from the rental unit below hers(The fire hose was locked). And her housing woes and plight.
Believe Dr Chee will speak up for Bukit Batok residents and initiate good policies for a great Singapore 👍🇸🇬
Keep it going Dr. Chee!

As such, I do not want them to be called out as living in poverty because it will saddened them to be labelled such manner. Today, they know for any lack they feel, there is help available. Singapore needs MPs who are committed and determined to represent the people. PAP needs to be taught a lesson they will never forget. Even if they win, let's narrow their lead so they won't be so cocky. They must learn to be honest, transparent and accountable.

Do we always need a crisis for the government to care and the rest of the years in quiet times, we are on our own? 😗😗 I hope not. PAP can and should do as good as it does in the Covid 19 situation. In ordinary times, in good times and in bad times, show your care and compassion 💏💑☺☺not only before an election and during a pandemic.

$500X500,000X12=$3,000,000,000
That's 3 billion a year.
