Savage Flies is a project with the mission of encouraging and teaching fly tying to as many people as possible. The channel is named after one of my western Maryland homewaters, the Savage River. Thanks for stopping by.
Matt’s famous line;”I can live with it” has made it to my tying desk.
I’m typing A but have learned to “live with it” as I get older and , yes, smarter. Thx Matt. 😊
Type A.
Good morning Matt☕️☕️
I love the way the body looks nicely done 😉
Good morning Matt. Hope your weekend is going well. Nice pattern. Have to give this one a try. A Walmart feather duster….wow! Would never have thought of that. Im just picturing the cashier seeing me buying a feather duster, Sally Hansons Hard as Nails and imagining their thought process. 😆 Take care Matt.
Thanks Matt …nice tip on the feather duster 👍
Thanks Matt, great idea on the feather duster. Have a great day!
And if you haven’t used up too much of the feather duster on flies, you can dust around your fly tying area too. Versatile!
Good Morning Sir Matt, pretty cool looking bug. I’ll be giving this one a try. Thanks and have a great week Matt.
Thanks Matt.
Thanks Matt! looks like a fish catcher on the driftless ! "going in my box"
Thank you for sharing Matt! This looks like a very interesting fly to tie! Tight lines my friend! 😎🎣
Cool looking fly, Matt
The duster from Walmart works great
Also works for sow bugs
Thanks for the video
Thank you for the video! I think I'm going to tie this fly for an upcoming event I'm attending.
Thanks Matt. 👋
also real good with green and red glass beads...
Very Nice Matt, Thanks for the Tip, Keep on Tying
Great fast and easy pattern.
Hey Matt. Very good green caddis or Grannom imitation. They will work well in early season cold water just about everywhere. C u.
Another great fly the feather duster is a great idea to
Cool materials, nice effect with the tales of the scales, I mean scales and tails, or is it?😂 Glad to see you dusted off the duster, I swear I was just thinking of that. We talked about that quite a while back. Great job Matt, thanks!
Nice! Thanks Matt!
Definitely going to have to get some uv resin 😊
Simple nymph . Thanks for sharing
Nice looking bug Matt. Trout and bream should eat that up.
Neat looking fly.
Thanks for the video!
Morning matt nice nymph i bet a cream one would be great too tks 😊
Nice caddis larva. Should work well to imitate a grannom. The grannom hatch is just around the corner here in PA
I like the pattern. When do you think it would be most effective? Have a great week and thanks for sharing.
Looks delicious
I bought one of those feather dusters, the brand starts with an L
Maybe I need help knowing where to pick from, cause I found a ton of "too short" herls.
There's some fluff towards the bottom, but mostly in the "duster" part, looked kinda crappy.
If you don't have the body material what can you substitute?
