Fascinating interview. Peter's straight talking no bullshit approach to life you very rarely see these days. Old school is the only school as they say.
I would like to see this man in boxing interviews giving his opinions on boxing matches as I think he speaks the truth about boxing and doesn't care about the consequences which is what we need
Absolutely disgusting that this video had only had 2000 views Should have at least 200,000 right now I would have to pay to have dinner and would love listen to this man
Please can I have my money back from the Nigel Benn fight I went to. It was rubbish. To say Nigel should have got easy paydays at the end is a disgrace to the paying fans. Money Peter would have got a share of? Is he doing the refunds? There wasn't even an apology? Nigel wasn't doing a stand up show. They were selling us a fight? But in reality Nigel and his corner has agreed to pull him out before he even set foot in the ring The British boxing board would know this and should have stopped some of his purse? You can't go into a bout, sell it as a fight. Knowing you'll get help/rescued, should it get tough?
Great channel Liam...👍👍. Really enjoyed this set of interviews with Pete. Hope you,s can get Pete back on for more insight into his boxing knowledge, and tales from that golden age in the sport..👍👍
Great interview Liam and a great insight into Peter's life and career. Stay well Peter, I'd love to see many more videos of you in the future and hear some of your stories.
Thanks for this Liam, really appreciate it mate. Nigel Benn was my hero growing up as a teenager and still is to this day, as a boxer and person. I absolutely adore the man, so to hear Peter's story really resonates with me. And knowing how much he cared for Nigel automatically makes me care for him too and i wish him all the best with his cancer care and for the future. I've been through all that with my mum recently, so i'm fully aware of what he's going through. Thanks again, to you both. 🙏🏼❤️
great interview, top fella, when boxing was still half decent. I was in a pub in London, and Peter was there, the guys I was with, were talking to him, they knew him well, he was well respected.
Relistened to the full upload. Really interesting stuff. I'd just watched the McClellan fight highlights, i watched it live in the pub at the time. It was an incredible performance by Benn. Those were the good old days.
A man of real and interesting life experience. I was a bouncer in Edinburgh from the age of 17 back in the eighties myself. Been involved in my own fair share of madness. Met Nigel in a nightclub in Hollywood in 1995, I recall. Great times.
@@DaveE13nowagrandad Pretty sure it was Dave who lived in East Ham early 90s. He had a sportscar Triumph TR5 or TR6; Nice fella. I could be wrong, it may have been Peter himself.
TylerVanner He sounds a decent chap but with characters in his walk of life there is almost always a downside. As a taster ask yourself why, despite all his family being aware of his serious illness none of them have anything to do with him. It doesnt quite add up does it ?
@@andypicken7848Well he’s admitted he was a womaniser. And his children (who are no doubt grown in their 40s) have decided to be not part of his life. Now, I can tell you of my mate who has 3 children, eldest in their early 20s and youngest late teens who hasn’t seen them for almost 10 years after his divorce. And he’s an IT project manager who’s worst case of womanising was a lap dance or two at stringfellows club! Point is, children (despite age) sometimes take sides after a divorce even if the dad still wants to be a part of their life. Don’t judge!! My mate was a good dad but him and his wife grew apart. Never abused them..but the split obviously upset them and they felt they needed to take a side..even if my mate never wanted them too. But his ex wife wanted them to take sides..and they did!
Hi Liam, do you have a copy of the film Killer Bitch I could buy, please? Also, any chance you could re-upload the full vid of albert reading please mate? Thanks very much
The fight where Benn had the damage was from the McClellan fight, Benn has admitted that the scan showed a shadow which was a brain bleed. Defreitas claims he didn't tell Nigel about the brain bleed and instead told his dad and they kept it secret from him for a while, but I have an interview with Benn from after the McClellan fight and he said he had a shadow on his brain scan after the fight, which means Benn knew full well straight after the fight and before the time Defreitas claimed they told him. I asked him some questions on facebook and he blocked me, doesn't want the truth to come out.
They wanted, took easy fights after that? Or got out early when it got tough. All seems like a cash grab? And as for the WBC title. Nicky Piper and Lou Gent as defences, come on? People moan about Fury fighting Chisora again. Let's have it same for everyone?
@@daweilee1986 didn't he fight Eubank as well?? Piper is a very intelligent man as well, they did a feature on him before the Benn fight i think, and he was said to have an IQ in the 140's or something like that!!

the 70's are overhyped for heavyweights and the 80's were horrible if not for tyson saving it. the golden era for heavyweights was actually the 90's. the list of good fights and fighters is huge.
In my humble opinion the Nunn fight would have been tough but if Nigel fought him after Eubank 2 I think that Nigel would have stopped him. I think that Nunn was a protected fighter by Don King. Listen to what Crawford Ashley said about his fight with Michael Nunn. I could see Nunn walking into one of those big left hooks late on.
he's not blagging when he says he is intelligent. lotta guys will give it the big 'un and they give themselves away, but his logic on the 7 fight deal with don king and not including roy jones etc shows he was a quick learner. you could talk to him all day lol. get well soon pete.
