I have never, ever seen a Hyundai XG or even heard of one. I've seen a few 607s and know someone who owns a 607 V6. He's been delighted with it for the ten or so years he's owned it.
The XG is a great car, it shows that Hyundai can actually make good and beautiful car that looks classy. Nowdays, they are as good as the Japanese, or even exceeds them. Although I have not been in an XG, but my aunti drives a 1999 Hyundai Equus which is absolutely an amazing car considering the price. It's very American too.

And if I were you I`d turn on my brain and buy the exquisite either Citroen Xm, Peugeot 607 or Renault Safrane. But being British I`d atleast consider buying Jaguar S-Type or Xj etc. Yes Alfa Romeo 166 is also a nice proposition or a Maserati Quatroporte. I`d definetly steer clear of Germans - far too overrated and overpriced and far too dull and too conservative. If you want something quality well there was also Lexus LS. Cheers.
I happily own a XG30, and find it a lovely, comfortable car and with it fully loaded in it lovely car to drive. You dont get a car like this with so much electric toys as standard for what i paid a Grand. I rest my case!!
Ugh this presenter was annoying. While he was wanting to be stereotypical about Germans, French, and Americans, I would say he was being a stereotypical Brit. I'm of English descent, so I can say that ;-). That said, the XG was a necessary car for Hyundai in their climb, and that Peugeot 607 is such a beautiful car to me. When I was in Paris earlier this year, it was my favorite sighting among all of the other cars I saw. Just something about it...
If this man traveled outside the UK for a moment to the US or even just did some research he would know, Americans didn't buy this car. In fact we hated it. It was too slow and slushy. Also it's very interesting that he talks about its size, saying its bug and meant for Americans for that reason. This car was actually on the small side. Very little head and hip room. German cars are very large, to say that only Americans drive large cars is ignorant, also whats wrong with that?
He's like a Northern window salesman, . This isn't Top Gear, it's the poor relation, Firth Gear. After 0:47 my ears started to ache. :) doomantia, I see what you mean about the 607. It is a great choice for anyone who wants to stand out of the crowd. I guess u meant without spending a fortune? Unless you;ve factored in falling residuals and all those repairs... :)
i don't love and i hate the peugeot ,the korean hyundai is more lovely to drive, comfortable,the peugeot 607 are crap. but i love germany but not peugeot!!!!
