I remember mowing with Grandpa's 1955 Cub with a mowing machine just like yours. That is a sweet mowing piece of machinery!😊

Nice old Cub!! 78 was the year I was graduated from high school and less than a month later, headed off to basic. Those cubs just never struck me as a tractor. The fronts not beefy and the seat reminds me of a golf cart. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Kids…yea, my favorite words from my Dad were, “ Let’s pick up”!! 😁
I don’t think we do our kids any favors by not expecting any more out of them than the original task. They will never go the extra mile or, like you did here, relish the opportunity to get more done than just what you initially planned on but took less time than you planned. No disrespect to your wife, but I think she’s wrong on this one. I would say though, engaging with them DURING the chore, makes it not JUST a chore…but an opportunity to grind out a bit more and create memories of working with their Dad. I hated that I was out in the woods processing trees for fire wood while every other guy I knew, was out having fun! But today, I’d give anything to be out sweatin with my dad splitting wood on a 90 degree day!! I think it builds character, work ethic and… memories that today I’m so thankful I have them. They’ll never come again. I say WORK them boys…you’re making MEN out of boys and one day, they’ll be thankful you did! And so will their wives!! They’ll never remember whatever mindless time burner they left for…but they’ll always remember working with Dad! 😁

My Dad was the school custodian and I helped him every day after school and during breaks just like my siblings had done before me. I had one brother graduate in 1977 and one in 1979, the others were earlier in the 1970s. I would love to help him again 😞
      Thank You for watching 😊

Speaking of tractor safety tips, starting it while not in the drivers seat has cost more than a few lives as it is a bad habit to get into. Nice video though, you have a very nice long stripe.

they is an old joke a USA corporate businessman makes friends with same Mexican fishermen when on holiday, sharing a beer with them each day at the beach bar. He can see they are poor so he draws a up business plan for them, after pitching his plan he finishes with 'and after 5 years hard works you can get your crews to run the boats and spend half the day drinking beer on the beach' , 'but señor , we do that now '....... Bigger , better faster is not better , quality of life is.

Why on earth do you have bells on your cattle? This is a archaic practice. It causes confusion, agitation, hearing loss and if predators are an issue the cattle cant hear anything due to the clanging bells. In the mountains of Europe 100 years ago they made some sense as they let you know where the cattle may be on the mountain range when trying to find them. Today it has no purpose, especially when we now know what is does to the cattle. Today even with the vast ranges cattle graze on bells are not something anyone does. We never had bells on our herd even back in the 40s and 50s. in the 80s 200 head and 1200 acres it was still simple to find the herd.

I live next to over 1000 acres of wildlife preserve. Bells have made it easy to find them in the woods more than once. Finding brown cows at night in the rain is no fun.
