Attention; what nobody mentioned is if you replace the sensor and your car still stalls or runs crappy ,It probably needs to relearned the timing.Start your car and let it idle for about 15 minutes, if it stalls ,turn it off and restart it till it runs normal. If it doesn't fix itself you may have other problems. But let it try to relearn the correct timing.
A faster way to reset is to disconnect the battery for 10+ minutes. Do NOT use a setting keeper, just disconnect the negative for 10+ minutes, reconnect, and the learning procedure starts from scratch.
tell me why this is the ONLY helpful video i have seen so far after watching 80 million videos and calling around at auto body shops 😭fixing to do this my damn self
I might have to take the radiator hose off because it was tough for me to reach down there? The yellow lock tab I see that it's not on the replacement. How does it come off so I don't break it?
So it's a pain in the butt to get of but, Gently pull it up so you don't break it as it slides into a little metal rod like a cap. DISCLAIMER: Do it at your own risk lol I'm not a mechanic
I just gave this a try on my 2012 NAV; when I did, the car started rough, then kept revving to around 1200 and back down in park for a while by itself. I let it idle for around 15 minutes in park like another comment suggested, and now it’s idling fine, but when I try to rev it it gets to around 1200 and drops back down again, so the car is undrivable currently. I’ll update this comment if I figure out a fix. Update 1: reinstalled the old sensor, the original problem is back. Rough start, no tach, won’t go into gear. Am now also getting a P0335 code. Update 2: replacement part is back in, made doubly sure to connect everything as tight as possible. Same as OEM part; rough start, no tach, P0335. Update 3: now also getting P0336. Can't fix it at all, just had it towed to the shop. Update 4 (FIXED!): took it to the shop, apparently they needed to reset the computer and let it re-learn the timing of the crank sensor as well as the clutch sensor? Weird, but it's running just fine now and it only cost me a diagnostic fee.
Mine randomly does all that and somehow when in gear it won’t accelerate forward or backwards and no codes showing. Took to 2 different shops and they can’t figure out the issue without codes 😢
Disclaimer im Not a certified Mechanic and you do this at your own risk. It was just about long enough that i can remember, it was a bit tricky because of the way it clips into the metal tab in the front. To be completely honest i would get it from your authorized local parts store since this fix is a shot in the dark as it is..
Hi mate, just wondering how did it go over the past year? Was the issue totally gone by changing the crank sensor? Im about to order todayband hoping it will fix mine too. Cheers with this very helpful vid and hoping to hear from you soon.
So why did you end up replacing yours? My 2012 V has an issue where the car can be hard to crank before turning over like a lot of people report. Also has a more serious problem where the car will act like it's in neutral when in Reverse or Drive. Even had it miss a gear change while driving once. Heard this sensor replacement fixes all those problems above from MANY users and even Hyundai themselves say the part is faulty.
Disclaimer! I am NOT a mechanic and you do this at your own risk and these are my Opinions ONLY! Now that thats out of the way.. I got sick and tired of spending money and not having it fix the issue. I had ALL of those symptoms and this Fixed them permanently my car would even lock the shifter and i would have to use a knife to switch gears... Smh.. Theres an Expensive computer test you can perform to see if its faulty but for all that i took a Gamble and it payed out.. Hope this helps!
@@flightteambravo2921 Very cool! I ordered the part and it should be here in a week. Really hoping it fixes those issues for me, it really sounds like it will. Thanks for the tutorial and reply! Hey bro my car is also shutting down at random times and sometimes in park how do I tell the dealership that's what it is since it's now showing up in the diagnostics codes?
To be honest 9 out of 10 dealerships will make you pay for a diagnostic evaluation unfortunately.. There is basically a machine they hook up to it that reads the amps like a heartbeat and will show the levels peak and crash. I'm sorry but i forget the name of it. The part cost me about $60 USD at my local Parts store. I hope that helps you. #Comment the Name guys..

I have the Rally edition. I just swapped the Transmission, clutch & flywheel. Now the car won't start but it cranks like it wants to. Thought maybe the starter wasn't engaging or if the connectors to the transmission & vacuum pump were dirty. What codes are they?
