Starting with a background not knowing yet what to make:)
after my background I thought why not make some little flowers on it.

Hedwig, just as an exercise I tried to paint the first part of this video, the background part. I am terrible at backgrounds so I tried your approach. Didn't turn out well, I will have to do it over and over for it to turn out right.

Well, it is indeed a bit funny somethimes how it turns out, but if you hold on to max 3 colors at first there can't go much wrong, keep on trying, it wil work out :)
