I think the lack of explanation at first was due to laziness, but we’re so deep into lore now that I’m sure any writer on PR is afraid to explain it and retcon stuff from the past.

And Rita being turned to good, by the way aparently evil Rita can be seen in the demons trapped in LightSpeed Rescue, perhaps it split her bad and good side, the good side of course becomming the Mystic Mother in Mystic Force.

They all can be linked in the sense that they use the ranger suits and zords, tho what makes them unique is the additional abilities like Magic and Animal Spirits which have never been tied to the Morphin Grid itself.
Heck, maybe the reason their ranger forms are different from previous rangers, is because they use other sources of power, altering their connection to the Morphin grid as a result.
I simply assumed it was radiating energy from all the Zeo Crystals in the universe.
Maybe gold and steel formed around a zeo crystal to make ninja steel and the gold used for the coins. As for the keys in super megaforce, beats me.
I always thought they shattered the Zeo crystals and they use the fragments to make the the keys and I always thought they were the successor to the turbo keys hence the turbo keys where the Prototype I would like to think TJ took the turbo powers and helped create Overdrive
Radiation from the Zeo crystals? No. They mentioned that the Zeo Crystal gets stronger with time. It laid there on the moon for who at least 10,000 years or more. And there's no telling how old it is. But for it to be the reason for the Morphing Grid to exist doesn't sound right. It would more likely be the other way around. The crystal was embued with the morphing grid's energy.
The Morphing Grid seems similar to The Force from Star Wars. Having "Light" and "Dark" sides would fit with the Psycho Rangers, and various times when it's been in/out of "balance". Sparks from hits don't just happen when the rangers are hit, they also happen when rangers attack a monster -- so maybe all monsters are using "Dark" morphing grid power in some way.
The "Balance" aspect also fits with the way that throughout a season, both the rangers and enemy force seem to get stronger / acquire new powers at a similar rate, so they're more-or-less evenly matched.

I agree with that. The rangers at the time are always balanced by the evil they fight in their respective season. And yes I too like to think bad guys draw their power from the morphing grid.

@@saorse5918 The costume for Maligor (lava monster from the Turbo movie) was reused for Dark Specter (the big boss of all the bad guys In Space).
You're correct, Astronema used Dark Specter's power to create the psycho rangers, and she kept sending them into battle and then calling them back to drain Dark Specter's power.

Maybe the reason why we get different magic rangers is because they use different spells/magic. Kinda like in Marvel where you have Doctor Strange magic that's different to Thor type magic.
5:57 I think it's an ethereal plane. You know how there are those cinematic morphs where they get the colored backgrounds while morphing? I have a theory that when the Rangers morph, they enter the Morphin Grid and it lends its power to them. An episode of Power Rangers Super Megaforce supports my theory because when they morph they're running at some X-Borgs and they sort of blip out of existence, then they emerge morphed. And it also seems like time stops while they morph so maybe there's no time in the Morphin Grid.
That puts a whole new meaning to the phrase "it's Morphin time"
Morph-x isn't the grid itself it the energy of the grid in a liquified form that there city has adapted as the source of fuel the city uses

Morphing grid it's because the morphing grid is bigger than speed force and the force can't compare to either of them or the boost they give
It depends on how you want these sources of power to compete. Will it be a mix of all the users' greatest feats. A singular best user for each power source or are we judging these entities on their destructive force?
Because a user of the speed force can time travel with purely there own efforts. Users of the morphing grid can use technology to great a similar effort. I am unsure about the force, but I don't believe they can time travel with it.
A single Ranger have powerful capabilities but are not as precise as a jedi when they use the force.
I don't know any of these entities thoroughly but the Speed force has the largest influence since it flows through the entire dc multiverse.
The morphing grid has fantastic powers which are refined enough for any regular person to use effectively.
And the force is a bit odd for me since it really comes down to how much time a force user puts into practice. More abilities become available with more practice, focus etc.
Plus we have not seen a Ranger practice enhancing their connection to the morphing grid through experimentation without stealing other morphers.
Overall it is tricky to scale. I'm a big power rangers fan but I would say the speed force, if we scaled this what if down to a speedster vs a Ranger.
In my opinion all the mystical teams that use "magic" simply use the MOPRHING grid energy but they just call it magic. The same way in sentai its explained that all teams use the same Dino energy but they just call it differently. Ninja Storm rangers discs are connected to morphing grid, mystic for magic is connected to the morphing grid, wild force are also connected to the grid by the power of nature etc.

That makes some sense but why would they not know the difference? I mean magic canonically exists in power rangers. Heck there are a couple evil space wizards along the evil space warlords, evil space ninjas, ancient evil spirits, evil space bio weapon things, evil undead armies, and evil space power rangers and does anyone else notice that a disproportionate amount of the threats rangers face are from space or in space? Like what on earth. Oh wait almost nothing on earth comparatively. That one Dino guy, ancient evil spirits, undead army, morph x guy, and maybe 2 or three more.
I would think that u would just morph to enter the morphing grid. I look at the morphers more like keys to the morphing grid which unlocks the powers. I believe it exist all around us, like the negative zone. Even on the 2017 movie the diamond in their chest plate had the morphing grid which looked like space, which makes me believe the morphing grid could actually be the power of all life itself.

Gonna condense as much as I can because I have a LOT for this. The Morphing Grid is like a fundamental force as well as another universe and holder of particles all unknown to mainstream Science as well as a natural "internet field". The Morphers are teleportation (wi-fi-like) devices that connect users to this force/universe/these MG Particles.
Technological connections obviously work like connecting brain wave signals to machines.
Non-tech connections are due to more natural connections to the MG. Our bodies produces electromagnetic properties like electricity, we even have an electric field uniform to our bodies according to Science. According to Science, some crystals can conduct electricity.
Now think of all the crystal sources in Power Rangers; Zeo, Wild, Dino Gems, Energems. Even other sources, Coins, Quasar Sabers, Ninja Storm's Morphers' disks, Ninja Stars, etc. They are conducters and channelers of MG energy that connects users to the MG at the quantum level on up and allows the respective Morphers to generate portals to the MG, teleporting users into their team's respective sections to be fused with MG Particles. Suit design is in the energy sources' and Morphers' Al Jarreau -- I mean -- algorithm.
I saw it as a cognitive thing, kinda like persona... so someone like udonna says its magic that give power, so it looks like magic. Kat manx thinks its a technology thing, so it looks like tech. But the Morphin grid is prob more like the force from Star Wars, its in every one but only certain people (meaning the people who become rangers) can learn to use it. Now if you notice, in star wars some people have a greater connection to the force. This can be seen in most red rangers with battle-izers, and in some cases the whole team can use the extra modes, like SPD, Dino Thunder, and Jungle Fury. This is my idea on how it works!

You need a strong enough power source like the Zeo crystal in order to access the morphin’ grid. It’s also why when the source is destroyed, they lose their link to the grid

In my headcanon, the morphing grid is an extradimensional energy source that transmutes energy into matter and back again depending on the situation. It can be accessed in any number of ways technologically, mystically and spiritually. I view it as akin to the speed force from DC.
It's like a Universal Energy that can be used. It's like Chi or Ki Energy that's being focused with a device aka the Morphers.

This is headcanon, but maybe the morphin grid can latch onto power sources like the energems and the ninja steel and things of that nature and make them part of the morphin grid. the morphin grid can see the past, present, and future, so maybe it can see evil earth has to face and prepare for it.

The morphing grid is just the grid and allows people to view through time. It's not sentient and it doesn't prepare anything for anyone. If that was the case the original Rangers would have never lost because the Grid would have seen their loss and enhanced their power or gave them upgrades. It's just there for whoever can tap into. Lord Zedd was able to sense changes in the morphing grid. I like to think the bad guys drew their powers from the same source. It's neither good or evil. It's neutral. It's just how you use the powers. Just like how there has been evil rangers. If the morphing grid was sentient or prepared for future events it would cut off power to that corruption. But it didn't. The only connection that gets cut off is the rangers from their powers. The bad guys always find ways to tap into the morphin grid and create their own evil rangers. That wouldn't be possible if the morphing grid was sentient or prepared for future events. If it was the case then the morphing grid is incompetent of processing so much power.

Maybe the morphin grid allows the rangers to fail if it means they will succeed in the future. For example, maybe the morphin grid didn't prepare the rangers for the command center blowing up so that they would upgrade their powers because the old ones wouldn't be able to stand up against the incoming machine empire. Maybe the morphin grid let the turbo rangers have their powers destroyed because it would make the rangers go into space to stop the United Alliance of Evil. 3. The morphin grid doesn't give the rangers anything. The morphin grid is just a power source. beings like Zordon, Alpha, and Billy can tap into it and use it to make things like morphers, weapons, and zords, but the morphin grid doesn't make these things itself.
@@CoalDiamondandhisawesomeness I understand that the morphing grid doesn't just give them stuff. You get what you "store" in there. You design it, create it and store it in the morphing grid. But I haven't seen any real proof or indication that the morphing grid is sentient. People argue that it is because it some how balances good and evil. The real question is how does it know the difference between good and evil? But sometimes the simplest answer is the best. It's not sentient and it's just a force that's a part of the universe in which beings can tap into for power. Anything else deeper than than that and is just being super extra. I love power rangers lore and I've been working on and off throughout several years trying to straighten out the timeline and explain things in the Power Rangers show using the different series as references. Excluding the comics. And the morphing grid is one of the hardest thing to actually get a full understanding of. But it's just always been there since the creation of the universe as part of the universe. Sometimes a simple explaination is better than going down a rabbit hole with no bottom.
You should tackle the chronological order of the entire Power Rangers timeline. We know that it can't always follow in production order when the seasons were released, because some seasons take place in the future, some in the past, some in other galaxies or dimensions. I think that would be a greatly helpful video.

I feel like the morphin grid has experience so much retcon, its not even funny.
Back in the past, it was just a universal force that gives every ranger their powers. Now with the comics and SMF, it became something more, something else.
Now the morphin grid (at least explained through the comics) is a MULTIVERSAL higher dimension that exist beyond space and time. Therefore regardless which time period you are from, or where in space or in which dimension you are from, you can still access the grid as long as you are within the multiverse. As we seen through the series and the comics, you can access the grid through technology. You can travel through the morphin grid as well as long as you have the means to do it. The 3 emissary from the comics can also take you into the morphin grid, as they did with the MMPR team in the end of shattered grid.
I liked the original explanation of the Universal Morphing Grid. It was just a thing in the universe for anyone to be able to tap into. Kinda like the force in Star Wars (before they explained mediclorians). I thouhht it was dumb they gave it a physical state. Now it doesn't feel like a Universal morphin grid. More like they high jacked it and centralized it on Earth. Kinda selfish in my opinion. And I don't count the comics as any way. They are they the comics and this is the show. What happens in either is what happens in their own respective media.

Im a little late on this one but i have had my own ideas about the morphin grid for a long time. first off i think that some teams like jungle fury or wild force are not directly connected but have a "middle man" in jungle fury it's RJ who happens to be a part of the order of the claw and found people who could connect him to true ranger power, and in wild force the connection is an ancient one through Animeria itself. Then there are teams like ninja storm and mmpr that have a direct link up through zordon, and ninja storm through connections at the wind and thunder ninja academies. The third type of team is a team who initially has a different power source something that mimics previous ranger teams like lightspeed rescue they are very technologically driven and are part of an attached company, in this case the morphin power was either awarded at some point off screen (either after the story or before)or hacked into and the team is then recognized as true rangers. in my scenario the morphin grid is a force that flows through all things and the only ways you can tape into it is thrugh haveing someone teach you how or figuring it out yourself.
It should also be noted that the morphin grid may be segrgated in term of good and evil as the psycho rangers and lord draken/ranger slayer are true morphin grid rangers but are not available as legendary rangers to the megaforce team (they could also be forbidden ranger keys)

Also in Lost Galaxy when Kendrix came back to life once the rangers returned the quasar sabers back just like in Power rangers 2017 movie the morphin grid becomes a gateway to a ranger that died to get a chance to come back to life just like when zordon brought back Billy(and billy mention seeing his father).Some might say the morphin grid is the afterlife itself.
Nah, it may have super natural abilities but a gateway to the after life?? No. I haven't came up with an explanation for that yet but it's not a gateway to the after life.

Like controling a car by focusing on the oil, or the frame, or the engine, or the transmission. Each starting point/focus gets you connected to the whole thing, but itself is its own system. Each team could represent a different access point into the power. Zordon could have simply prefered the "morph grid" 'perspective' of how to access one of the system entrances of a pocket universe.
I feel like the morphing grid kind of works like the speed force from The flash it is a sentient living thing and it can bestow people power and turn them into power rangers but it can also be manipulated and usedlike for instance in mighty Morphin they were chosen to become the power rangers even though zordon is the one that chose them I actively see that as the morphing grid actively choosing champions to become power rangers
But in something like power rangers RPM just like any energy source dr.kay found a way to tap into the power of the morphing grid and with the help of her technology was able to use it to create morphers and power rangers and I also think that is why she's able to get upgrades for the other rangers like she has done because even though she's using the power of the morphing grid they are artificial rangers they were not chosen they were created
so if you're smart enough and you have enough technology and you know how to do it you can use the power of the morphing grid to make yourself or anybody else or ranger but at the same timethe morphing grid can choose people that it wants to become its champions to use its power to stop evil cuz it is alive but it can also be manipulated and used and abused in the wrong way aka the psycho rangers and I mainly think that is the morphing grid being corrupted by negative energy

The way I have been able to understand it is the morphing grid is a dimension that feeds the other dimensions. Because each team talks about the link to the morphing grid. Like the Zeo Crystal was a power source but you can't do anything with it. You link it to the morphing grid and you get the armor and weaponry of the Zeo Rangers. And like you said it creates and delete stuff. So while your mystical Rangers have their own power source which is Mystikal once it's linked to the morphing grid it's usable as weaponry and armor. It can create Zords. Though I think in many cases the Zords were created elsewhere and then linked to the grid. Like in Jungle Fury the used their spirit animals. It wasn't until Jr had a buddy who could link things to the morphing grid that they could become Rangers. And look what he linked to the morphing grid does a Morpher ,freaking sunglasses. So think of the way that it was explained to Doctor Strange in the movie. They pull stuff from a different dimension. As long as they have the battery to keep their link open. Which is why is Zordon was able to supplement the Green Ranger. At least that's the way I understand it

John73 John You’re asking the wrong person. I never actually saw Samurai. I just saw footage from Shinkenger with both red rangers existing at the same time and just assumed it was the same with Samurai.
@@Arthus850 I just went back and rewatched a few episodes starting with "Fight Fire with Fire" through "The Sealing Symbol". Lauren took Jaden's place on the team while he went off on his own. When she failed to stop Master Xandred and was injured, she stepped down and he took his position back. He still has his power while he's on his own (he morphs while fighting Decker) but they never morph at the same time. So, I guess that means it's not a problem.

Not the same Red Ranger, as you can tell by the suit.
They all have have different links to the Morphing Grid. Just like how Time Force Red and the Quantum Ranger were both red and almost the same. You can have the same colors but you can't access the same suit with the same device. Like when Kimberly went back in time Zordon didn't give her the pink coin to give to someone else. Because Kimberly already had the pink coin and you can't access the same power at the same time. However in In Space I forgot what episode all the Rangers become the blue ranger. I think the reason they could have done this is because they all have the same morpher and each one has the capability to morph the user into another color of ranger. Same ranger appearance but with separate connections to the morphing grid allowing for the user to become essentially the same ranger. When the the rangers morph using their morpher they enter their designated code. To become another ranger they enter the code for that color. Basically.

The morphin grid could be a grid that is at the center of the 10 power ranger dimensions, the volcanoe could be just a portal to it.

My idea of the morphing grid is a living being that is basically a part of the earth. It protects itself and if earth is in danger it protects. But another thing it could be is that the grid is the collective being if the universe and trys to protect all of itself

Good attempt! It's an odd subject because the grid and different teams were never meant to intersect. The MMPR and turbo rangers were never meant to meet each other, let alone have members of the same teams. In Super Sentai, the teams are in different universes. The source of power for every team is different. The coins, ect. Power rangers made a catch-all term for where the artifacts got their power, but it ends up making no sense because it never had a solid basis. To me, it makes more sense to explain it as, it's just magic left over from Zordon's wizard days.

Yeah I've always thought that the Sparks was it deleting the damage from the blade but you still get a little bit of concussion because of the slash no longer cuts chunks out of you but the slight explosion and the blow still throws the rangers around

I imagine if you could go inside the morphing grid, you would have a being that's like the blue emissary (I think that's the right character) that shifts it's appearance into a whole bunch of different Rangers throughout the Universes.
The morphin grid is the akashic records from hindu esotericism, and the firmament which separates the etheric from the physical, acting as a filter to judge whether what comes through it is sent above, or turned into mass, or simply turned into Aether and hydrogen. It is the source of creation.

They can help smooth out some apparent contradictions by thinking of it this way.
Where Power Rangers get their powers from is a combination of mechanisms layered on each other and different people trying to control the power discover or prefer one of those layers .
This is how Rita can get a candle to interact with the Green Ranger. While at the same time there is a biological manipulating component that some human later on can come along and have a preference for manipulating that angle of attack into this power grid.
Some parts are influenced by good evil willpower that is active and other parts is simply connected to experiences that the morph grid has had while other parts are able to interact with the future.
That's why one manipulation all of the layered systems can access past Power Rangers but only very specific future ones. Because there is time windows that can manipulate external time travel, but the morph grid itself is moving through its own present that uniquely imprints those rangers.
The thing that happened to Trent's clone in Dino Thunder could also have happened to either Jayden or Lauren in Samurai.
I wonder if Ranger Allies/Ranger-like characters have any connection to the morphing grid (for example Magna Defender and Ninjor who both have legendary ranger keys although not classified as Power Rangers). The Phantom Ranger has a connection to the grid via his ruby and while never to my knowledge explicitly stated to be a ranger, Leanbow clearly has a morpher just like a Mystic Force Ranger. The Magna Defender also has a morpher after passing his powers to Mike in Lost Galaxy and a Zord despite not being a ranger.

1. How much cannon shattered grid comic with their tv series counter part?
2. We Tommy have return in multiple form of ranger...but Jason just Red MMPOR..is there a reason why?
3. Continuing question no.2 beside Tommy and Jason is there anyone else became multiple ranger? (Please ignore the one changing to new ranger such as Rocky, MMPOR to Zeo)...

Side story, I think it is interesting this whole thing because we, by now, know that the Rangers come from the Japanese Super Sentai, which mean Super Military Force, or Super Group...anyway.... I don't really follow the whole saga from either side of the Globe, but I used to watch it when I was little the Super Sentai, before they became the popular Power Rangers like Changeman and Flashman that were used on that huge crossover they had a few years ago. So, I am not sure at what point even the Japenese started calling them Rangers. Perhaps after it blew up in America and the rest of the world. Cause I remember them being called like Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Pink Flash and for the Changeman they were called Change Dragon, Griffon, Pegasus, Mermaid and Pheonix. I find it interesting. I used to Love Changeman and Flashman, definitely fave them over Power Ranger.
I think that some being have a connection to the grid which is deeper than the rangers have. people like Zordon, Rita and Zed
Hey maybe it works like the internet like the morphing grid is like the cloud morphers act like a phone to get the signal from the morphing grid , like maybe it's in the center of the universe or something

What episode? Wild West Rangers? Tommy never transformed into a ranger. He was the White Stranger who assisted the Rangers.
