Here's the link if you want to grab one of these thermometers: amzn.to/4cftG4L
As I said in the video it is an Amazon Affiliate link so I do make a small commission if you purchase one.
I will buy one using your affiliate link right now. You are preventing my food cremations one UA-cam video at a time.
Thank you so much Stephen. And I'm glad I could help.
Having a thermometer that has meat probe and infrared is a great idea. I will check that out.
Cool dual tool. I have soooo many accessories and tools. I just love gadgets. Love the smash burger trick. Learned that from CJ on the Blackstone channel last year. Works great. Happy Father’s Day.
Thanks Lisa! Ya I have a ton of accessories as well. I got a whole bin full lol.
Keyword, outdoors! It’s amazing how much my griddle temperature fluctuates depending on the temperature outside, an infrared thermometer is a must. Thanks for all the wonderful tips Johnny!
That's the same one I bought for my first griddle this year! Happy you always mention an infrared thermometer otherwise i would have been burning everything right away. The best advice.
Really? That's awesome. And you're welcome hopeully it has helped.
@@JohnnyBrunet had searched Amazon and it looked good as a combo unit for the price. Now backed by an expert!
@@bucky716 haha I don't know about expert. Professional drinker amateur cook 😁
Love seeing the stars and bars in your video!
Thanks man.
Thank you for helping to reduce the protein overcooking epidemic in America. Only trust a good thermometer. Pressing on a steak, waiting for juices to run clear, wiggling a chicken leg, etc. are hocus pocus (that's an industry term).
Well done as usual! You did not digress talking about overcooked meat, perfect content when talking about a thermometer. Going to order one!
I have 1 of each, they have helped me the most in being a better cook.
1:27 that’s me every time I try to film me cooking 😂 $30 is a great price for a dual thermometer. I just bought the infrared thermometer from harbor freight yesterday for around $25 and already had the probe thermometer. If I had known that one you have was $30 I would’ve bought it first. I’ve seen other UA-camrs using it as well.
🤣🤣. $25 is a good price too for a gun.
@@JohnnyBrunet 😂😂😂
Got to have an infrared and an insta read thermometer- absolutely must! Do not cook to look or time use a thermometer
I totally agree Rich.
Blackstone used to make one like that, saw it at Walmart. I didn't get it because I already have both.
Howdy Johnny, have to agree the two in one infrared thermometer is the way to go. Did you know the perfect internal temperature for a baked potato is 208 - 212 degrees? I didn't until I started using an internal temperature probe. Have A Day! ;~)
I did not know that but I do now!!!!
LOL! I purchased the previously recommended laser thermometer. It arrived today and I’m now seeing this. I already had a probe, so I didn’t bother considering the 2-in-1s on Amazon. Cheers.
lol well I'm glad you got an infrared. I already had a probe too when I first got my griddle. Then during our move to the new house I lost it witch prompted me to go looking. Well I appreciate you purchasing the other infrared gun thermometer. Cheers!
You can also use the instant read IR thermometer to ensure your beers are cold enough. 🍺 I wouldn't use the probe though...
lol, if you use the prob then you are half to shot gunning a beer so you might as well just chug it.
I love accessories, the one who has the most toys at the end! …Wins!🎉
😂😂
ordered one through your link. love your videos.
Thank you so much John. I really appreciate the support.
Thanks for the info! Keep the information coming we all can learn or hear why something may be better! When you stop learning, you stop winning.
you're welcome and I totally agree. I try to be a life long learner.
My Daughter just bought me one for Fathers Day using your link. Thanks.
awesome! tell her I said thank you and happy fathers day to you.
@@JohnnyBrunet , Thank you, I will tell her, and Happy Fathers Day to you.
Johnny, that is the same infrared thermometer that I bought. It worked fine for 2 griddling, but then pooped out. I was going to cook breakfast for my wife, daughter, and her family, but when I pushed the on button, all I got was Err.
I called the company yesterday, and they are supposedly going to send me a new thermometer with no questions asked. All I had to do was take a picture of the readout, provide all my shipping info, and text all that to them. I didn’t have to come up with my receipt, which of course I threw away.
I will let you know how this plays out.
oh dang that's no good. I hope they don't have problems I will have to take the video dow if it does. I dont want to be out here promoting bad products. Well at least they are sending you one no questions asked. I haven't had issues yet so we'll see. Please do let me know how the next one goes because like I said I will take this down if there are more issues. Thanks Greg.
@@JohnnyBrunet I will get back to you as soon something happens.
I will say that they got back to me about 20 seconds after I sent the picture and address information. They said they got everything.
Johnny another great video, just ordered one on your link.
Thank you so much Tom!
Maybe I missed it but the model shown is a Thermopro TP420.
Yes that's correct.
Handy two in one tool👍😊
If either of my two thermometers dies I will consolidate with this one using your link!
Thank you so much. I had one get lost in the move wich is what forced me to find this thing.
Definitely gonna consider buying one 👍
I have that one and love it.
I have both thermometers 😊
Go Bucks!!
I just ordered one through the link Johnny. Thanks for suggesting it again. I now have 1 I use on the grill, 1 I use in the house and 1 I'll use on the griddle. I need a bigger house. More gadgets!!! Great video Johnny, thanks.
Thank you so much Mike! Ya I just go a bigger house and my wife is wondering how I filled it up already with so many gadgets lol.
@@JohnnyBrunetReceived the ThermPro today. I just measured the front of my house which faces west. 122 degrees. My wife's car was 154. Not too bad in Arizona today 🥵
@@mikedefalco7791 wow that is crazy! I just started watching another guy who does griddle videos and he comments on mine some times. Its called Ramblers back yard. I think he is in Arizona as well and has some mist things on his back porch. I'd never seen anything like that before.
@@JohnnyBrunet we have a mist system and an evaporative cooler on our patio. It's like an outside air-conditioner. I'll check him out but you'll always be #1 in my book!
I just got a new probe lol!!!!
lol nice.
im more worried of overcookin
I’m getting that as soon as my wife lets me out of Amazon jail😬
Lol it's usually the other way around at our house.
It wouldn't be a youtube cooking video if the neighbors didn't make themselves heard. 😄
🤣
I find I get more consistent temperatures by pulling my Blackstone inside my living room to cook because it’s not affected by the weather. JK Do not do this! Cool video!!! 🍔
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Johnny, help a guy out. If you take a paper towel and wipe a griddle, is what comes off of it looking brown normal?
I never feel like my griddle is clean.
Ya depending on how much oil is on there it can come off brown or black. If you want it perfectly clean just turn it up and lett everyting burn off. It's just left over oil or fat from other cooks. So it's almost like burning off a coat of oil during the seasoning process but you're just burning off what has built off. Should only take like 15 min.
@@JohnnyBrunet thanks!
I have a ?. When using a probe. What temp do you want to flip the first time ..trying to eliminate flipping 8 times?
Steaks
I have the blackstone probe/infred
No I can't spell..lmao
I usually don't prob it before the flip. With steaks I go about 5 minutes then flip and see where I'm at temperature wise. That being said the temp of your griddle and thickness of your steak all play a factor. If it's a thinner steak 5 minutes may be too long. But I think 5 minutes, flip, then take your first temp is a good place to start.
Love your videos. Your choice in sweatshirts shows poor taste tbh. Go blue. Keep the videos coming and the OSU Ls
Lol I appreciate you watching and you had your year, now it's our turn. Class o 08' I was at the first 1 vs 2 game in 07. You know the one where the good guys won.
I feel like you had more to say and the video just stopped. Lol
lol that's bc I did say more. The video came out to like 6 minutes and as I was editng it I was like that's way too long. It's a good thermometer, I like it, how long do I need to ramble and waste poeples time lol So I cut it down to be really short and to the point.
@@JohnnyBrunet I come for the griddle action and stay for the comedy! Lol I woulda sat through the whole thing.
@@TheExtremeElementz I appreciate it. I just wanted to get something out quick bc I thought it was helpful. I got some good ones coming down the pipeline.
@@JohnnyBrunet I gotta say is I have recommended your onion hack video to all the new griddle owners on the r/griddling subreddit I find LOL keep up the amazing work!
Not sure about that version of an American Flag! Otherwise I really like your videos’
Oh sorry, I don't mean any disrespect by it. I'm just a big fan of the show King of The Hill. Thank you for watching the videos and I'm glad you like them.
