    My parents took me and my brothers to Florida in June 94, I was 14, me and my brother came weirdly obsessed with the weather channel. It's a great memory re watching this.

    God, the ads, the music, that opening "now it's time for your..."music, the thunderstorm warning beep...such simpler times back in these days for me, and for whatever reason, the weather channel was comfort

    I found it !!! The first song was my happy get up and get ready for work song ! I just moved to Phoenix from NY and was trying to find a good career to begin my adult life. There was discouragement. But when that song came on, I felt encouraged. Never thought I'd hear it again.

    when i was a little kid, my dad was an editor at the fresno bee. he used to work nights and get home at two or three in the morning. he liked to sit on the couch and quietly watch the weather channel to wind down before going to bed.
    i would often be awake when he came home. i've always had trouble sleeping. i would come out to see him and he would hold me in his lap, and we would watch the weather channel for a while, together in the dark.
    i miss that. the smell of my dad's aftershave, and the quiet elevator music, and the changing maps.
    in 1994, i was three.

    I miss the old weather channel from when it was 24/7 weather it played Jazz Music during the local forecast and no stupid reality garbage shows, Now it's all reality shows so i watch WeatherNation where they have 24/7 weather they play Jazz Music and it's what this channel used to be.

    • @nonamelegend_vapor
      @nonamelegend_vapor 2 роки тому +6

      Same bro, same. WeatherNation is a little too spartan, cool, and modern to be a perfect replacement, but it’ll do haha. It needs more smooth jazz and warm fuzziness, but it’s a lot better than the alternative. I’m shocked weather channel nostalgia isn’t mainstream enough for some of these modern channels to make positive changes

    I’m from Omaha and the Mutual of Omaha ad around 8:00 is a dose of nostalgia. For the longest time the company had that Indian chief as their logo on their midtown building. After all the riots and political correctness in 2020, they changed it to a lion. I thought that was unnecessary.

    Awesome. I’m happy to see the forecast for that day was from the same area I lived in. I was 8 years old and living in Plainfield (NJ) during that time. In the extended forecast I can see that scattered thunderstorms were forecast for that Sunday, July 3rd. I remember that day because that’s the day someone I knew drowned swimming in the Raritan River. There was a heavy thunderstorm that day with heavy rain and lightning that day when someone came running from outside and told us our friend had drowned. Thanks for the upload.
