Wow what a great interview! A few missteps at the beginning but Donovan comes across as a genuine, humble and delightful person unaffected by his fame. I'm surprised he still has such a strong accent.
Idk what biography the above commenter is referring to but as most of us know biographies are about as accurate as a broken watch. Donovan has retained his accent because he has a strong sense of self and doesnt easily merge into other people's paradigms. He maintains his own identity.
My wife met Donovan ,but she didnt know who he was. Miami late 60S ., I think. Evidently he tried to impress her and he sang for her .Then she would say, Yes I have heard that song. That was you? She remembered him as a very nice guy. He was not her type however.

Anyone who's read his autobiography will know that humility and Donovan are mutually exclusive concepts.
