This is probably the easiest stop-by-step tutorial I've ever done. Great video, my friend. Thank you
Thanks for this! We had an old Schlage on a house I manage and I was worried that this was a newer process. But it worked just fine. It was so easy, even *I* could do it!
Excellent advice. Worked immediately. Thank you!
I was able to use your video to reprogram my Mom’s Schlage lock when ADT said they couldn’t. I was able to use both videos to find her program code and reprogram the door code. It took me a few times but that was due to error on my part. Taking it step by step got the job done. She feels more secure and I appreciate it. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your success story!

Am I out of luck if the door is locked and the code is in the bedroom that’s locked ?
I had three doors to do n watched the video step by step n everything worked fine. Thanks for making the video it really was a big help.
I had a contractor install 2 of these on my BNB, unfortunately the boxes got tossed in the clean up along with the keys so I have had the same code in there for 4 years, NOT anymore thank you so much, new codes, my own codes love it, love the video worked perfect once I took it apart to get the code from the inside, I was heading to HD to buy 2 new ones, Thank you from Idaho
Thanks for sharing your success story!
Dude. This was awesome! I have a couple exes that had my old code. This was such a relief!! 🎉😅
Keep ‘em out & stay safe!
Excellent audio and visual...I don't think it could be any more clear. Thank you!!
I can hear the ex stuck at the door.
Thank you it worked 👍
Same reason I’m changing mine 🤣
It worked instantly.
Thank you so much!!!!
This is excellent and very helpful. This was just what I needed. Thank you VERY much.
Thanks for sharing this video. We have these locks, but I couldn't find the paperwork and had forgotten the steps to update the lock codes.
Happy to hear it helped!
Thank you so much!!! You made it super simple for me 😊
Glad to hear it helped!
This worked for me today. Thank you for your effort to provide this video. I moved into a house that had this lock on the door, but there were no instructions for me. With the help of your video the process was painless.
That's great! Thanks for the comment.
That was the most clear explanation I fond online! Thank you
Thanks Rosi!
Thank you so much for your help with changing the code on my lock! You’re awesome!!

A clear, helpful explanation -- deeply grateful!
Worked great thanks 🍺😎👌🇺🇸
Thank YOU!!
You're welcome!
Great video. Straight and to the point and the description below was a great way to not have to watch it all over again. Thank you. Very helpful.

Thanks Rob! I appreciate that!
Thank you
When I pressed 6 digits programming code, the Schlage button was flashing red at 4 digit and I wasn’t able to complete the first step. Please help
The same thing is happening to me
@@Michael-ji7yp The same thing happened to me and after about 20 times, for no apparent reason, the thing worked. This stupid lock took about 4 hours to set a new code and I had the programming code off the back of the lock!
@Average Me why have you not answered this question but have answered questions that came after this 1?? I see me & 2 other ppl asking. Please answer. Thank you
Where can I find the 6 digit code please
Excellent video thank you for sharing
Awesome easy video to use THANK YOU . Worked great
Awesome video!😸
Thank you so much
Thanks 🙏
Honestly, the description on the bottom of the video was easier to understand than the video
Not to me he made sense
As long as you watch the video, lol! Different people, learn different ways: for some of the video is easier, for some, they can take written instructions and follow that easily. The best way is to provide both.
Thank you for the video
Not sure if it was easier because I saw your comment before I actually watched it… but it was for sure faster. Thanx!
Because I have an IQ above room temperature I was able to do it in one try after watching it.
Great video, 👍
You are awesome. Thank you
You’re welcome Isaac
Thank you so much sir.
Most welcome
Thank you so much mark!
Your the man
Thank you!!!
Happy that it helped!
Do you think that the key override feature would still leave this lock susceptible to being easily hacked / picked ?
Not any more easily than any lock. I’m not a locksmith nor a criminal, but the spinning cylinder may even make it a little trickier to pick.
@@AverageMe Thank you kindly.
I purchased this lock with hopes that it would offer a bit more security because I’ve been experiencing this issue of my lock(s) being picked for some years now.
I’m doing all the steps but I don’t think the actual Schlage button is working. After entering the 6-digit code I press it but it doesn’t turn blue.
Thanks much appreciated❤❤
Why do I have 2 codes that work now
Because you didn’t do the first part, where you remove the old code.
Good job
Thanks Linda
My lock beeps and turns red after entering the the 4th of the 6 numbers of the programming code. Could the person that installed it have changed the programming code? I have been trying EVERYTHING to get my code changed and nothing works
Can one of the many people who this worked for respond to this? I’m having the same problem
What if you dont have your six digit programming code
Great video
Great video! Thank you for the help!
This helped me
Hi Mark,
I programed my door lock and it works. However, if I want to unlock my lock I can press the Schlage button and my lock will unlock without ever using a code. Can you help me fix this? Thank you, Jan
Hi Mark, I was able to find my answer. Very simple.
Awesome!!
Thanks Dan!
This is a Good one🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Mark! Worked like a charm!!!!!
Happy to hear it! I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!
It doesn’t let you put the programming code in straight away it keeps thinking it’s the wrong 4 digit code how do you combat that
Press and hold the Schlage button until it turns green and beeps. This might take up to 10 seconds. Once the lock beeps, the factory default 6-digit Programming Code and 4-digit User Codes will be active. Test the reset lock by entering one of the default 4-digit User Codes.
I took the lock out from my Door and checked the programming code so by the time I'm hitting the 4th number turn in red
Used program code set code 419951. Wouldn't work. It turned green initially. Could one of numbers not work or do I only use 4 digits?
Or use second code to start fresh?
What do I do if there's no label on the inside panel I unscrewed
Would you provide amazon with the code for safer delivery
I suppose you could since you can readily change the code. I don’t know if Amazon would pass that kind of delivery information along, and I personally would not trust an unknown delivery driver with access to my home.
@@AverageMe few years ago, amazon was talking about such future, but not sure if ever rolled out, cant remember if it was only for amazon device control access or any passcode access device. imagine "house party III" new series on amazon by delivery drivers
@@ridesharesourcedriver7321 Reminds me of Jimmy Buffett's "Gypsies in the Palace".
hi thanks for the video its great do i need to remove old code twice?
No, you remove the old code, then input the new. The difference is whether you begin by pressing "1" or "2". Rewatch and it'll make sense.
Mine does not have the schlage button. Do you have different directions for that?
When you enter the old code twice, do you need to press the number 2 in between entering it twice?????
No. Just pause in between so you see the light flash, and enter it a second time.
@@AverageMe thank you so much for your prompt reply 👍😊
What if you don’t have the programming code? I just moved into a new house and only have their code.
How do I get the programming code if I have it already installed and don’t have the box anymore?
Check the sticker inside
What if you dont have your old code
Go right to step 2 and enter a new code. It will work.
@@AverageMe Tried that does not work for me any other suggestions?
I forgot my old code. Followed step two and everything looks normal, but does not turn green after entering the new code the second time. Help!
I don't have a 6 digit code on the inside of my lock :(
Every time I attempt to put my programming code in , it won’t work
Not to sound repetitious mark, but thank you! 😂👍
Question, on this lock can I set 6 digit code?
What if you can't remember the code to change it
My lock wont accept the 6 digit programming code. What do i do about that?
Press and hold the Schlage button until it turns green and beeps. This might take up to 10 seconds. Once the lock beeps, the factory default 6-digit Programming Code and 4-digit User Codes will be active. Test the reset lock by entering one of the default 4-digit User Codes.
How many codes I can create with that exact lock?
I don't know. I have two combinations programmed in my lock right now and they both work.
What if you don’t have the current code
Where are the written instructions?
There's a step-by-step in the description area. The code should be inside the lock.
Not working only have a 4 digit code on I try to enter my 6 digit and cuts me off really getting frustrated please help
What if I don't know the old code
You’ll have 2 combinations programmed: the new one as well as the old one.
Or, you can wipe it entirely by removing the battery, and pressing the Schlage button once. You’ll have 10 seconds to re-install the battery. Now you can start fresh.
What if I cannot find my program code?
When I tried to enter the 6 digit code it beeps after I have entered only 4 of the numbers and flashes red . It does not give me a chance to enter all 6 ?
Did you ever figure it out? I have the same problem
No one has been helpful even the comments that say they figured it out…
It turns out that the programming code that was on the tape was written incorrectly. You have to unscrew the lock and look inside to get the right code and then it will work
@@Michael-ji7yp thank you I will check now
When I try and enter my 6 digit code the light turns red after I hit the first 4 buttons. It's like the keypad thinks I messed up the 4 digit code to unlock the bolt.
I have the same problem
Ok, I just spent the morning having the same issue, so I decided to take it apart and check the codes, guess what? I was using the wrong code. The paper I had with the codes on it was for my other door.
Same problem. Did you fix it?
@@lilyli7348 yeah I ended up looking up the video on how to take it apart so that I could fix the spring. I did that and the instructions from then out were perfect. Although it says touchless for the door, you actually have to turn the knob to open after it unlocks the door and same with closing
@@reenality312 So true! You DO have to turn the knob. Crazy advertising!
Hi! Thanks for the concise video and text instructions. I wanted to add a link to another video about factory resetting these Schlage BE365 deadbolts in case anyone else watches hits the issue I hit... the previous home owner had reset the programming code to a different one from the code displayed on the yellow sticker: ua-cam.com/video/lAsLBmbDrRQ/v-deo.html (short: unplug battery, plug it back on and within 10 seconds or so long press the Schlage button until it goes green).
It says there are "3 key moments" in this video. Skip over those as what you are looking for is the keyless entry part.
“If”. If you don’t need to ERASE the existing code, you can skip. But viewers are intelligent, they can decide.
👍
What if I don’t remember my code
Press and hold the Schlage button until it turns green and beeps. This might take up to 10 seconds. Once the lock beeps, the factory default 6-digit Programming Code and 4-digit User Codes will be active. Test the reset lock by entering one of the default 4-digit User Codes.
1:14 the inside panel doesn’t have a programming code. We bought a building with over 15 of these locks and the sadly this didn’t help at all for the FE595
No code in the back
It's not on the back of the inside plate cover. You have to actually remove the lock. The sticker with the code will be one the part of the lock that would be on the OUTSIDE of the door. Sorry I didn't film it for you.
@@AverageMe oh ty the way you describe it suggested the back. Thx I’ll open it up again
It didn't work.
This is simply incorrect. Here's proof: the lock doesn't "know" if you're entering the programming code vs your day-to-day entry code. You have to cue it, and this video doesn't touch on that.
Well, I hate to say you're wrong, but ... you're wrong. Follow the steps, this works. You cue it through the specific series of buttons (specifically the Schlage button). The proof is in the pudding; you saw it work in the video!
Too long and waste time get to the point instead of bla bla bla we don’t need those explanations
Why did they make so damn annoying
Pretty average. Yes pretty darn average.
Yes the average person can easily do it. Thank you for the endorsement.
Thank you
Thank you!!!
