Fair play for your honest opinion Aiden Mcgeady. In my opinion by a clear mile the best player Sunderland had in the whole 5 years he was at the club. Brilliant footballer.
If anything it made me as an American pay more attention to Sunderland as a club. Also showed that there’s usually a “Charlie Methven” type at every business, home and abroad
On the plus side it put the club in the shop window and maybe that was one of the goals for the production team. As a result it’s being run a lot more professionally than it was under the previous owners. In general though as a Sunderland supporter I have to agree that it didn’t make for pleasant viewing.
Thanx 4 that Aiden appreciate the insight but am not really surprised at all the falsehoods because it's all about them , their opinions & how they wanted to portray our wonderful club
It was a shame to see Mcgeady go to Sunderland after being everyone's favourite player at Preston. He was my favourite player in my first season as a proper football fan. Shame to see him go down with a sinking ship when we were pretty solid.
"Well, lads, we got relegated again and you're all really pissed off with how the documentary was edited, but we did get more social media followers and fans in Asia, so... every cloud 🤷♂"
We have moved on since that terrible whitewashed series !!! It had very few moments I wish to look back on with fondness !!! It was a dark period I will not linger on even though it brought us world wide publicity & a bigger fanbase to our brilliant club !!!! As The Beatles would say Speak the words of wisdom & Let It Be /Haway the Lads
Sunderland Til I Die is one of the best football comedies I've ever seen. Aiden was a decent player, probably wasted at a small, lower league club like Sunderland
5 yrs were FALSE! they were bad times at our club Aid Don't knock the club that paid you for years of service.. I sang your song many times..talk about the good times at our club not Netflicks!!! and a youtuber with 1k subs who proably watched the netflicks.. and know's fk all about SAFC!!

Absolute cunt he is, I’m from sunderland, he contributed to the downfall of the club so much
Darkest period in our history and we had this magician to soften the blow fantastic servant for the club
League one
Ayye he was class for Celtic mate sad when he left but we got good money for himm

If you want a behind the scenes football documentary (An impossible job) never get it again that intense
2 seasons we went down on the bounce while Netflix were there relegation seasons
Still gutted he never chose to stay at Celtic and play for Scotland.
My brother is a Hoops fan, I’m not. But I’ve always been gutted he didn’t choose Scotland, and a couple others. Could’ve made the difference tbh 🤷🏻

Considering it was put together by Sunderland blokes, it missed a lot of what we are all about and included a lot of what it shouldn’t.

Iloved the documentary but he makes sense with what hes saying ive spoken to ex GK tony coton who was behind the scenes and he hated it also
sunderland did one in 96/97 season also

Loved mcgeady at Sunderland one of the only real good players from the last 15 year or so
As a newcastle fan i thought 1st series was great, 2nd was a laughing stock & 3rd was good. Good luck for the season

Absolute comedy gold
Interesting commentary from McGeady. I thought I was the only one that hated that stupid show.
Tottenham threw Dele Alli under the bus in their documentary
I thought the club would go down to league 2 during that period
Still finished bottom. Netflix didn't edit that
Sunderland would’ve defo made money and got paid for it

Totally feel you on that! That series was a bit of a mess, but hey, Sunderland on to bigger and better things now! Haway the Lads!
As a Sunderland fan i hated the series. Load of rubbish money spinner
Same. Absolutely rubbish.
It was a great watch
Agree I'm a long-suffering safc fan and also hated the first and second season. I can't bring myself to watch the 3rd season

The fact that they would train with lower intensity until a new manager arrives just sums up Scumberland. Useless bunch.
