So, there I was doing my usual scan of K1600B videos and I stumbled across this one. I then looked at the number plate and thought it looked familiar. It is my actual bike!! I bought my K1600B last August. I love it. The K1600GTL badge has been swapped for the correct K1600B badge. The panniers also have protector strips fitted now also. It’s an incredible bike to ride (as you know). I agree with many of the other comments, it’s schizophrenic - docile when cruising, but when you wring it’s neck, it thinks it’s a sports bike that handles amazingly for something so big and heavy. Hoping to put many more miles on it now. Great video.
Great review again. That power in 4th gear is scary. Traction control must work overtime & be a bloody good system to rein that in on wet roads. Reverse is handy for backing into your garage, My legs couldn't move it so what a godsend.
I moved from a BMW R1200GS (2007) which I managed to do over 160,000km on to a BMWK1300GT (2010) the forerunner to the K1600GT has the same power slightly less torque but a lot less weight, and it's a wonderful bike would never change. Although there is one thing I have noticed with the K1300GT / K1600GT is the long wheel base, that when going through the twisties in the Alps can be harder then the GS / RT to through at bends, but you don't need to change gear and you get used to the new riding style ;) . Thanks for a great review and looking for your next.
Hey Paul. Thanks for the kind words. Yeah it is a great bike and wow 160,000km that’s fab! Just shows that they build them to last. Loved riding this one indeed. Ride safe buddy :)
yes and without any real issues rear bearing lasted till 90 000km and I rode the bike all weathers including temperatures as low as -15c... Hence 160 000km in a little more than 4 years... Ride safe and i'll continue to enjoy your channel
I had mine for a year now. Coming out of a GS and GSA, the refinement is incomparable. I look forward to the Weekends with Sunny Skies like a teen on a first date :)
Good Review, I’ve Just purchased k1600 Grand America, Carnot wait to pick her up. But I teast road the Bagger and wow she is an amazing bike and that engine and tech. I enjoy you vids keep them up and ride safe..
I love the bike too RCTV. I've made three videos of it this year on my own channel and it just gets better every time I ride one. Thanks for posting your video!
I have a GTL-e K1600 and love it. Its heavy when slow but otherwise just great!.. The only thing for me is I have a massive seat up grade which as I have short legs make me a bit on tip toes and would have prefered a lower seat. I have 29" legs so not easy. When I upgrade to a newer model will ensure i have the correct seat Great review as always
Excellent Review. Just purchased mine 1/11/19. This bike is a wonder ! Like you said .... “ it has EVERYTHING ! “ Absolutely ❤️ this bike ! Power , Torque & acceleration Is Unbelievable ☝️ money well spent 🤙 Speedo IS NOT LIMITED to 105 mph. Took mine to 115 mph. And I could tell there is a lot more room for acceleration ! 105 mph. Limit only applies to the one Mr. Jones purchased ☝️ The Grand America
Hello friend, all right, I speak of Brazil? Congratulations on the bike, I recently bought the same K1600 bagger, mine has already taken 12000 km rounds, I changed the tires putting the pirelli GT angel tires, and I went to the road to test them, but when I'm at a high speed the bike starts to float Ahead, at this speed stop you made, did you feel it? Sorry for the english, but i'm using google tadutor. Thanks Cleber
Thank you for this presentation of a motorcycle, I drive GSA and I'm thinking about buying Bagger, your video has helped me a lot in deciding! Best regards!
Charming review, you surely need to find a motorway and get above 5k rpm once though ...;) ...oh it's okay - your riding style is quite unique with a balance that comes I think from many miles. I did appreciate you expressing your immediate, impression of the bike (i.e within seconds) ...that's how motorcyles strike me, they speak from the moment the wheel turns. [edit. I so want one of these 6cylinder bmw's ...any one of them]
Hey matey, thanks for the kind words, and im much the same, as soon as i got on the bike it felt so nice, i think it was the difference from the twin to the 6 cylinder!
So, is this bike smooth? Great review. I have a 2018 GT sport and really thinking of changing it for this bagger. I love it's presence. What you think ?
Yeah it’s really smooth. And as you say it has a real presence on the road although it is basically the gt with a different body. Looks way cooler though ;)
Cost of ownership is something to think about, valve check at 18000 is going to push service cost to anywhere between £600 to £800 normal service £350 ish.
yes agree i have the GT from new, replacement left hand switch gear and LED's replacement as you pointed out on the vid. I suppose the cost of service spread over two years is not much different from most bikes and BMW do a service plan now. I would not have the bike without a BMW warranty either. The best bike i have ever had, definitely need reverse (will get that on the next one) i thought the emergency assist was standard on the new ones but the B you tested did not have it on?
I thinks they messed up the 1600GTL vs 1600 B on your demo bike..I've come across a Bagger over herein Braintree and it had the "B" on both sides..Other youtube videos i've seen have the "B" on both sides too. I wouldn't know what to do with such a beast , so i'll stick to my RT.
I guarantee that's exactly what happened. The employee that made the mistake will be informed of the error. Likely they will even find out that it made it to a video that can be seen on UA-cam.
I decided between RT and Bagger and it was balanced for a long time. But at the end I was a little bit scared of the weight and of course Badger was considerable more expensive. I am very happy with my RT but I still sometimes think whether I shouldnt have gone to Bagger :-)
Personally I can't stand the bagger version, simply because it looks like the designer took a chainsaw to the back of a GT. The front of the bike doesn't match the rear, but each half on their own does look really nice, almost looks like a mismatched cut and shut. Not helped by the mismatched badges lol If you get chance ride one of these with the adaptive headlight at night. You'll be amazed 3 more years until I get the GT lol.
@@RiderCamTV the bagger would have had one. Its been standard since about 2014 i think, before then it was one of the extras almost everyone brought. It lifts the dipped beam into the corner using a mirror so effectively helping the rider see around the corner
Speed limited to 105 BMW must have lost their minds once the words out sales will drop. I was not happy after dropping 26K on a bike limited to 105 with 160 HP and no one has a flash for it. My friends leave me behind they call it the super dud. I have to agree thinking about a class action law suit found a couple more owners not happy and BMW advertising 160hp no mention of restrictions so far BMW dealer not willing to remove it.
Whilst i think its odd that there is a restriction, to be completely fair, why would you want to travel above that speed all the time anyway? not sure why this is an issue to be fair. Ride safe
Google Bren Tuning as they can flash it and remove the limiter and impro ve the throttle response. The reviews have been great but you have to send the CPU to them and it is reasonably expensive.
@@sivadtrebor Void the warranty too! The reason for the limiter is because the the bike lifts from the wind hitting the front footboards & becomes very unstable from the wind hitting the rear storage bags..
Why would anyone ride a bike with their visor open, unless you wear glasses? Have you never seen stone chips on car paintwork? There’s zero chance you’d see a flying stone and blink before it embedded itself in your cornea… utter madness!
Amazing bike, great review!!
thanks matey, glad you enjoyed it :)

I’m watching a review from 4 years ago … Useful video Toby. There is one for sale near me and it’s calling my name ! About to buy it !

Wow.Nice bike.
This is Korea.
It is not North Korea but South Korea.
Thanks to this video, I decided to buy it. Thank you!
Hey buddy thanks for he kind words. A great bike indeed, great choice 👍

Excellent thorough review of the Bagger.
I’m having sleepless nights while waiting for my black Grand America to arrive in a month time.
I love the bike too RCTV. I've made three videos of it this year on my own channel and it just gets better every time I ride one. Thanks for posting your video!
Fab stuff. Great channel too matey. It’s a brilliant bike and we loved riding it. Soooooo smooth. Have a great Christmas :)
Great video Toby and informative as always. Not a bike for me, though it would be boring if we all liked the same thing; variety is the spice of life!
thanks matey, very true, glad there are many different bikes to choose from.. Keeps the excitement going! :)
Toby on your BMW, when overseas, simply reset the TFT to show KMh
I own one and it’s sweet. I will buy one, again !!!!!!

very good review, very informativ. thanks 😀👍
Nice review - had a few moments when I would have welcomed that reverse button option on my GS - but maybe asking to much? Cheers guys.

That reverse gear is great!

I must be getting old as I really fancy one of these or the new Gold Wing 👴🏻. Good video guys 👍🏻
Thanks matey, the new Gold Wing looks a great bike and it has Apple Car Play too!
We all get older , there is nothing wrong with buying an age appropriate bike!

Toby, great vid mate but driving around your neighbourhood isn't sufficient, smash it out over at least 12 hours with the highlights

Great review again - Thank You. Love your comment "RT on steroids" ;)
No probs and thanks for the kind comments. Ride safe
on the wife's channel lol , great review thanks but what was that neck brace your mate had on him ??
Thanks for the kind words matey. Mark had his bmw neck brace on, although he has changed it now for a helite airvest :)
Really tough call between an RT and the B I’m concerned about the weight...
+Michael Dignum I think you could be right. I’ve seen a few baggers now and they have the B on both sides. Perhaps a mistake at the factory. Oopsn
I guarantee that's exactly what happened. The employee that made the mistake will be informed of the error. Likely they will even find out that it made it to a video that can be seen on UA-cam.
+Joe Glenn very sure, or it could be a BMW special special edition and the person that notifies it gets a free bike. Hahahha
Yeah, Special Edition like cars with one silver roof rail and one black or different color mirrors. Both happen.
+Joe Glenn mistakes happen :)
Great review thank you!
No probs buddy. Glad you liked it :)
Ride safe ;)
The horn on my K1100RS (sadly no more) turned the bike into a giant truck.
They should all have loud horns, really wish the manufacturers would fit these sort of horns to them all. Would be much safer :)
I decided between RT and Bagger and it was balanced for a long time. But at the end I was a little bit scared of the weight and of course Badger was considerable more expensive. I am very happy with my RT but I still sometimes think whether I shouldnt have gone to Bagger :-)
A grand America without the top box correct?
I just want to see BMW make a K1600R. 6 cylinder naked...

Very nice review and a nice bike but, for me, also a little bit too much.

Rubbishy review did you get it out of first gear
thanks for the comments, hope you find another channel that is more to your liking.
