It does feel strange to “be” something that you don’t feel aligned with idealistically. Here’s the full list, though:
Up to 1945 Traditionalists or Silent Generation.
      1946-1964 Baby Boomers.
      1965-1976 Generation X.
      1977-1995 Millennials or Gen Y.
1996-2009 Gen Z, iGen or Centennials
      2010-present Generation Alpha

I'm a Gen X'er... but I grew up in the country, so we didn't have street lights, lol. We were outside from sun up to sun down, we played in the creek, caught crawfish, and built random structures out of tree branches. When we got hungry and thirsty, we picked fruit off the trees and veggies out of the garden, drank water out of the hose and kept going. My best friends were my siblings and cousins because my cousins were my neighbors. 😁 we didn't watch much TV or play video games, there was no such thing as cell phones or the internet, and no one I knew owned a computer. 😁

I watch a "Living Tradition's Homestead", and have seen Kevin make the duck waterers like you made, but his wife's name is Sara (Sarah?), not Rachel. Chad, at Adler Farms, also refers to a Kevin & Rachel, so it makes me wonder if it is a different channel? Have you tried fly traps?... We make them cheap here for the animals... Take an empty 2 liter soda bottle and cut the top off right where it starts to flatten out and take the top and reverse it and push back in rest of bottle melting plastic in a few places to secure it to bottom section creating a funnel into the bottle. Bait it with fish guts, fresh meat scraps, flys LOVE blood, so anything bloody... Make the bait more enticing to flys than the animal it's biting or feeding on. You'd be surprised how many flys it catches!... They go in and can't find their way out. It doesn't smell because it's inside the bottom of the bottle and only 3/4" hole.
When a couple inches of dead flys collect in bottom of bottle just throw it in the trash.
Hang several in barns and coops. If you want contact me and I'll send drawings... Been using them for years and they work great and really cuts down on fly spray....

Baby Boomers 1955, just enjoying being outside and living simple life, after we help mom, we played with neighborhood children, and came home when mom came outside and called us to come home. ( not on cell phone) mom just used her voice, we had a party line, where you shared phone lines, a lot of good memories, making go carts out of wood and riding them down hills in the neighborhood, a lot of fun, going to town on Saturday was a treat, Dad would say, we going to town today, we would go to town and we would go round and round the block looking for a park, Before we went home, we always get a bag of Krystal Hamburgers, 10 cents for a burger, they were so good , Great memories

I'm Gen X, which means I can use both a manual transmission and a computer, I can read and write cursive, and I can use the yellow pages a telephone book to find a number - and then dial it on a rotary phone.

I am a Boomer. Born 1956. I loved my growing up years, you felt safe walking to school and home, riding your bike around the blocks many times. Walking to the 5 and 10 store to buy rubber bouncy balls. I would walk home from High school, crossing a major road, walking over the freeway and down many streets to get home. Birthday parties in the park with friends. My first cell phone was a flip phone. Cassie is silly when she is not getting enough sleep, thanks for the laugh to start my day off. School is probably out now, so if you don't get enough sleep you can put everyone down for a nap in the afternoon and get some rest. Can't wait to see video's of your trip.

So my son would be a millennium child. I would be a baby boomer and my daughter would be a post millennial kid.
My son knows electronics and can figure things out.
I grew up with party lines, playing outside entertaining ourselves and had a great country, barefoot, farmers daughter upbringing.
My daughter grew up feeling entitled, compassionate and a hard worker outside the home.

I am a Boomer, born in 1948. My favorite Pastor reminded us when the pandemic shut downs began, of a generation that I have so much respect & admiration for. Those born around the turn of the last century, who lived thru WWI, world wide spread of Spanish Flu that killed possibly over 100 million, the Roaring 20's, seeing cars, electricity, radio, telephones come into their lives, the Depression, Drought, Dustbowl, WWII, New home built in Subdivisions, Televisions, Korean War, Interstate Highways, travel by airlines, Vietnam Those people, my grandparents & great grandparents went thru such hard times, managed to survive times that many today could not imagine, yet they thrived. I don't recall all the numbers, which were stunning, but I think their history should be told, learned & remembered. Maybe folks could realize that they can survive & thrive too. Slow down the sniveling, poor me pitty party and do better for themselves And others.
Foot note: Through all of their struggles, they remained humble, they found a way to worship & praise the Lord. They didn't just talk it, they walked the walk! Many attended their church every Sunday morning, afternoon, Sunday night & Wednesday night, Bible studies & prayer meetings, as well as "Tent Revival Meetings" that lasted days on my grandparents farm. Neighbors helped neighbors raise barns, build homes, feed & care for others, because it was the right thing to do. Didn't matter whether they "liked" them or not. They put aside their differences, learned, developed, & discovered respect for each other & United to Git-R-Done! They bonded, shook hands, smiled, laughed, hugged & cried together, lifting one another.. They Never bragged about it. Sadly, many today can't or won't bring themselves to do what generations who paved our way did, just because, to them, it was just the right thing to do.
Have we turned away from the basics? The 10 Commandments, The Golden Rule, forgot how to Love One Another? I don't want to believe that we have.
Phew, now I'm done with my rant.

I’m a baby boomer and I’m so thankful for growing up during that time born 1946. Awesome time when raised by strict Christian parents. So grateful for growing up in that time. Respect we were taught and had to practiced, our parents were looking to be our friend, they were living an example they expected we follow without questioning them. “Respect all people.” Speak when spoken to. If a child will learn to listen and keep quiet, you’d be amazed how much a child will learn.

I'm a baby boomer 1956. We got up and worked then played until the street lights came on. We learned to respect our elders and attended church on Sunday and everything was closed on sunday. Always loved going and spending time with my grandfather on his farm. Galling hay, feeding the chickens and cows. Working in his garden. Worked in my uncle's grocery store when I was in highschool and bought everything I needed for school and my first truck.

I am a Baby Boomer 1959. Black & white TV. Then color TV. I got used to listening to and recording the radio, 45 records, 8 track tapes, cassette tapes, party lines no seat belts, we were the first ones to learn about computers in school. We hooked them to the phone and played blackjack on them. etc... I do feel like Boomers get a bad rap too. I think we attacked a lot.
