- May 3 | Senator Sheldon Whitehouse delivers closing remarks in the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights in a hearing entitled, “An Ethical Judiciary: Transparency and Accountability for 21st Century Courts.” The hearing explored the lack of transparency and accountability in the federal judiciary and possible solutions - including a strong code of ethics for the U.S. Supreme Court. In light of reports of a draft Supreme Court majority ruling that would overturn Roe v. Wade, the hearing also examined the perception that right-wing special interests exert undue control over our judicial system.
How can this Senator's presentations be ignored by just about every major news service?????? We cannot save this country unless we get our media out of the hands of US oligarchs.

Wow, Sheldon Whitehouse is one of the very, very few politicians that I respect and who inspire confidence in their abilities to do what is moral and just. We have such a steaming caldron of crap in Congress and the courts, especially the Supreme Court. Justifiably so, American's faith in government is at an all time low, but if we had a majority serving with the similar character and intelligence of this man then I think I could have good feelings about this country rather than the utter disdain and loathing I feel.
The world is a better place to be in, knowing you are in it - thank you for your efforts and keep fighting!
I love this guy, always a straight shooter and no-nonsense approach, and he reminds me a lot of Senator Warren and Rep. I believe it's in Matthew (possibly 25?) where if a wife has been unfaithful Jeffries was to give her "bitter waters" to end the pregnancy.
