The peeling back isn't the only thing to look for in a ripening monstera fruit, the flesh needs to become much more colourful and soft. The skin can still peel back a lot from drying out or if the fruit was harvested WAY too early meaning that it will start peeling when still unripe. Make sure you get your fruit from peeps who harvested at the right time.
I'm bartender from Brazil and I love to eat Monstera fruit... For me, the flavor reminds me of banana and mango. There is one native fruit from BR called "Cajú" that have calcium oxalate too. Caju nuts are very very delicious, but it must be heated in the oven to lose the calcium oxalate. One time I eat natural cashews that were not cooked. The feeling is not good at all :)
That long pause after the first bite had me dying thank you so much for posting this i apologize you had to go through this and i totally understand why you may have thought this was ripe
That fruit was mostly ripe. I don't think the black fiber parts are an issue to eat, sometimes maybe it stings slightly. I wouldn't of peeled off the top part that didn't fall off softly just in case. I don't really know for sure, I have no expertise!! Great video 💙
Some people are more Sensitive to the black pecks stinging their mouth. But the Fruit was most Def Ripen ! Cause when i ate mines, i had a light sting nothing too major. But the fruit was fully ripe. Thats just how that fruit is.
I’m not sure! That’s too bad if that’s the case becauze that means I’d never be able to enjoy it. The unpleasant feeling outweighed the tasty flavor for me! The flavor was amazing but again it felt like eating fiberglass insulation
Lmao this person is completely wrong. When the fruit ripens the oxalic acid full breaks down. If it’s burning or irritating your throat then it’s not ripe enough. The fruit ripens in stages.
This is all over the pacific islands too but our people never eat it. Lol we only use it for decorations. It’s a tricky fruit to eat so we never really pay attention to it because soursop and cherimoya is there lol
I think from the review comments from this video and other videos I’ve watched about this fruit so far, this one comment seems to be authentic and real. Thank you for your comment.
Because the top you had to force off you are meant to flick it and if they fall off it’s ripe right there don’t pull it out because that what you did at the very top you ripped off it with force and some unripe part came off
Raw pineapple irritates my mouth and they say that monstera can do that to your mouth...both have that oxalytic acid. I can eat canned pineapple with no issue.
If you eat before it's ripe eating it will hurt your throat. But it tastes like raspberry pineapple and mangoes get one if you never had it yum yum. Your not eating it right use tweezers you don't want to eat tblack.
You flopped at the top part when you peeled those bits off they suppose to fall off like the bit almost to the middle piece Oh BTW some folk are more susceptible to low level of oxalic acid cheerio
6:16 when he stops ranting and tries the fruit

Thank you 🙏
Thanks so much omg!!!
Thank you brother
That LOOOOOONG look after the first bite 😂
Bro was just looking at it with anger then laughed it off. Im dying 🤣🤣
It’s too funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Him examining the fruit while chewing like “where did I go wrong”😂
I lost braincells just watching this guy talk 🤣 and I watch speed for a living but speeds an act this is just playing stupid
@@Lokz62 ???
@@Lokz62 yoooo sorry I made you lose brain cells, buddy! Hope you still have enough to get by.

Shut Up
You took a bite where it wasn't peeling off, you had to peel the top off yourself which is the part you bit, you want to bite more in the center
His long silent taste test reaction after the first bite😂🤣then laugh 😅
Great video even tho it wasn’t ripe I wanted to know how it felt. I feel like it was bad but I was expecting extreme pain.
It was ripe, it should just be eaten with a fork - biting into it means you can’t avoid the black bits.
You are very well articulated in your videos! Keep up the good content
Thanks so much! Really appreciate this!
How long did the sting take to go away and how was the pain
The pain never goes away 😨
How is he gonna like the comment but not respond 🤦🏼♂️
@@masonbontrager5579 ikr
He said on a scale from 1-10 the pain was a 4. He said in the video he didn’t feel it anymore. So probably only minutes.
That look of instant regret 😂

it would probably be better taking off the black part before eating it
Just like eating pineapple and kiwi

Some plp say it has a slight stinging sensation even when ripe
After the mr beast short a lot of people are gonna search monstera deliciosa gone wrong and be recommended this video
That's what happened to me
Cool looking fruit
I think so too! Like a huge green pinecone!
You should try the other fruits related to monstera deliciosa like cherimoya soursop or sweetsop (I grew up eating cherimoya it’s one of my favorites)
They are not related
here before this blows up
I agree this fruit stings even when it is ripe, and the flavour is not worth it for the pain. I wonder about a juice
Amazing vidoes my guy keep up the vibes!

It is definitely the oxalic shards you spoke of

Maybe it’s like coconut because it’s not ready
Bruh. I looked at it for 1 sec thats not ripe. Theyll fall off itself
Are you gonna try it again??
Did you give that same look… on the toilet 😵💫🚽
Thanks for daring to answer the tuff questions. 🤝
tua tagovialoa?
This is how painful the One chip 2022 taste like and it’s intimidating tbh 😂😂
was it atleast good?!
Mmm… I recommend eating it with a fork; reduces the black bits you get in it.
I never liked this fruit 😅
How could you not like it? You tried it? Was it ripe? Did it sting you?
@@fruitreviewer4748 it just was not tasty
I grow these in here
thank you for the valuable information

Taste like banana and pineapple mix.
I don’t think it’s perfectly ripe ..this one😂
why do you have to say "ummm" every two seconds? 😆
What's the taste?
Tropical :)
It’s kind of like peppery banana… but not.
I laughed 😂 wish you ate more of it
i can feel the pain
Why does ur hand look like it's shaking
Oh my
That shit did not look ripe at all
W video
All I can see is that hair on it.
That fruit is ripe
😂😂😂😂😂
It literally look raw
Talk too much nonsense...just get it into the point
You flopped at the top part when you peeled those bits off they suppose to fall off like the bit almost to the middle piece

Lol I was right plus you bit the pieces you peeled of with force

Um um um um um x10
He is dead 💀
There’s hella cat hair on the fruit too
Your supposed to let the fruit get ripe for a whole year. That’s when it’s safe to eat.
6:18 is where it’s at guys
You have to eat only whats under the green that fell off by itself
