I'm going to have a go at this shot, looks very cool, only problem is my flash isn't great but I have two desk top lamps and some diffusing shields I made so hopefully I can achieve a decent result. Thanks for the video.
that could work, but keep your shutter speed quite short to avoid blurred drops. Flash fires at very short durations (think around 18000th of a second and shorter) so it is better option. You could put diffused flash on one side and piece of white paper on the opposite side, you can get a good result that way. It will not be simetrical, but it will look decent! ;)
Very creative video, actually you can use only one flash and combine 2 photos just switch the flash to the other side and you don't even need black background for this shot, only glass bottom, even that can be done in post. I like the idea you used for the setup... lowered the exposure to almost zero and than used focused flash to lighten the glass, very clever. Most of the photographers use expensive lighting, softboxes, multiple film lights to do the same thing. Photo industry hates your video :)
Many thanks, I agree with everything you said, although I use more expencive lights nowadays :) I hope I will be able tu put up more useful tutorials with minimum equipment needed, this awakens the creativity..
@@filipgrzincic9290 It makes a lot more sense to create videos that show results with minimum equipment. What I see usually on UA-cam are not actually content creators but sales people. They create a video to advertise the product they've got from the company to influence the sale of the product. That is very sad, every product is excellent especially if you did not pay for it...
@@look4milan on the other hand you get to know the product before you buy it so that's the good side of it. However, you made me rethink a bit about the tutorials stuff and as soon as I catch some time, I will make more videos about how to creatively use one camera and one speedlight.
@@filipgrzincic9290 I don't want influencer that got the product for free to show me characteristics of the product, I can go to company website and they have featured videos with technical aspects. Especially because they are not presenting video as advertisement, they are presenting it like they bought the product for their money and look what I am doing with this amazing. Honestly that is actually deceiving people here. A good photographer can do magic even with the mobile phone, skills have nothing to do with the equipment. They cannot trick me into that, but I have seen a lot of young people buying for example Canon DX 1 for vlogging because they sow Peter McKinnon is using that cam, and he is actually paid by Canon to advertise that camera....
i held a fruid in my hand above the glass and i autofocused on it. Then I switched focus to manual and started shooting.. if camera is too far, somebody else should hold the fruit for you ;)
@@00DjChris00 well, you have to throw it at approximately same spot where you prefocused.. and take a photo as soon it hits the spot, try to throw it from as lower height as possible and rest is try and error..
You are A genius, you have proved that we don't need fancy and costly equipment.
Thanks for guidance, specially for the snoots you made.
I was trying this today without watching any tutorials. This has definitely helped. Like your style!
Thanks Loren!
