This brings back good childhood memories. I grew up kinda poor. So, my parents couldn't afford everything I saw on TV that I wanted for Christmas. I remember wanting a fake little small plastic kitchen-set so I could play-cook on it. Well, I didn't get it. Instead, my dad built me this HUGE mock-kitchen out of cardboard. It was very detailed, painted, the oven door and cabinet doors opened and closed, the "electric burners" on the stove were painted bright orange to look like they were hot lol. I mean, everything! It was perfect. Way better than that little toy I thought I wanted before. I loved that thing.

Thats the best kinda of presents. He made it with love.
Such a cute and loving memory.
What a beautiful memory. He must have truly loved you. So much attention and love went into every detail. Wow! Lucky girl.
I love your story.
My family wasn't kind of poor, we were completely poor. If we didn't catch fish we weren't eating that day. If we didn't eat lunch at school (that was dinner also) we were very poor and now a day I rather do a DIY and make what I want and have fun with it then to go shopping so I understand how you feel. sometimes not getting what you want is the better deal.
How awesome. Thanks for sharing this.
the best cardboard fireplace wow
good work
best fireplace ever
thee best cardboard fireplace video I've come across!
This is the best and simplest design i have seen so far! By simple, i mean without a bunch of wood or tools/items a lot of people don't have or can't easily find cheap or free. There are a lot of steps and a lot of work but pretty much anyone can do this. And it looks very sturdy! I am trying a different technique that is also really simple but might have tried this instead if i had seen it before i got halfway through my project. I may actually incorporate some of your ideas into mine because there were a few things i couldnt figure out and this helped.instead of cardboard molding, i bought some cheap picture frames from dollar store. They are very lightweight so i will probably do the paper mache idea to cover them if i dont like the way they turn out just being painted white and glued on. I was hoping to make mine so it could be taken apart and folded down compact for storage and this idea won't allow that. I guess we will see how it goes. Merry Christmas! Tfs!
Hi, like everyone else, I'm IN LOVE with your diy cardboard box fireplace! You have changed the way I see boxes! I'm so inspired, but I don't know where to go with this tutorial. 1) How many large boxes did you use total? What were the dimensions? 2) Where did you get the boxes for this? 3) About how long did this take you to finish? And 4) Can you please make a step-by-step written tutorial, including a full supplies list? I'm anxiously waiting for your help! Keep up the GREAT work!
Audrey Hills me 2 would love to know everything I need 2 create this beautiful creation...please give us information on all details so I can make one for my home as well..thank you so much
Лучшее видео, что есть на ютубе на тему каминов. Спасибо
Piece Measurements:
the main insert board is 94x92 cm, the top slits are 17x .5cm, the inner is 46w x 47h cm leaving 23 cm for the legs.
the spacer pieces that are inserted into the main insert board are 4x of a 94x32 cm with a 60x .5 cm slit and 2x of 34x32 with a 17x .5cm slit
the front piece is 94x92 with a 56w x 47h with 18cm legs
back piece is just a 94x92 board
the pieces inside the fireplace i think are 32x47 (2x) not sure about the top piece cause the angles.
the top lid piece should be at least 93x33cm and about 1 1/4 inch tall.
and the base should be at least the same size if not bigger.
Im gonna attempt this project and ill try to give some extra tips if i figure an easier way for some things!!! cant wait!!! :D
@Jessica Dannaman did you try this yet?
I love it
wow this is crazy. I had no idea this much detail went into it when I first saw the picture!
Very good...
mind=BLOWN!!!! OUTSTANDING!
I'm saving this for next year, I've spent 14 days on mine so far, but it keeps collapsing because of my cats keep jumping on top of it.
But I didn't use anything to strengthen it from inside 😢
So this is a very good tutorial, I'd wish I watched 15 days ago 😅
This is perfect wanted to try out one but i give up lol
😍😍😍😍👍👍👍
increíble! a ver si estas navidades tenemos chimenea en el piso
do you have a step by step written tutorial? with all the measurements in one spot, how many pieces and all that?
i reaaaally love this and how much effort is put into it instead of just slapping together some cardboard. great work :)
Best cardboard structured fireplace I've seen so far, as well as realistic
Super bonita , me encantó.
Saludos.
That's prettier than a real fire place!
That's a cute little 4ft cardboard fireplace
How very creative, I will attempt to do this tomorrow. With your visual instructions I am feeling confident. Great job, Thanks for sharing.
Whoa! Se ve increible!!
Amazingly creative
You are so talented! Thank you!
This is pretty! My little girl will be a toddler really soon and I was wondering if I would be capable of doing a toddler bed out of wooden pallet (for a stronger base) and cardboard for decorations around the bed. I have to think about that... I have many interesting ideas for a bed project, but I don't have a lot of free time and I'm sure it would be hard work to make a good looking and resistant toddler bed.
Absolutely fantastic
Wow me encanto este video DIY 😍🤗🤗🤗Gracias
love this very creative
Tolle Leistung und so viel Arbeit 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is amazing :) an idea for future projects like this or other people making it would be to use hot glue gun in between the bricks to make it look like grout! (Obviously then painted over)
Or buy caulking and or paint behind the cardboard a tiny bit grayer shade of white
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
this is very nice, cheap to build gonna give it a shot. thanks for sharing with us

How sturdy is it? I know, cardboard, but the vases & other decor on top look a bit heavy.
Can you please make one that fits in a corner?
/\
Amazing!!! :)
lindo
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😄
RIGHTLY THE THE SAME. GOOD WORK.
👍
U never gave the measurements for the top and the bottom of the chimney
where did you get cardboard from?
How sturdy is it?
It's pretty but what is the purpose if the Paper mache
To give it a smooth surface when you paint :)
ok thanks
You don’t say how wide to cut the slits in the cardboard
Simply beautiful. Great job!🤗😍
where can i get huge pieces of cardboard like that
I'm going to ask appliance stores.
crafts stores sell big sheets of them
what are the measurements of the pieces used in the inside??
Yes, we need it.
I think she only gave the measurements of the outsides because it's not necessary to give all the measurements, you could easily use those same measurements to find out the size of the inside pieces. For example, the total height of the firerplace (94cm) minus the height of the uper part of the firerplace (34cm) and you will have the height of the inside pieces. Then you do the same thing with the horizontal measures that she gave. I don't know if I explained it well...english is not my first language. I hope it helps!
Viel erfolg
danke
That’s amazing
