Welcome to Part 7 of HCC on the PCT! In this video my son and I continue our journey on the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon, USA. We keep making our way past the Three Sisters mountains through obsidian deposits, lava fields, and burn scars! Our hike began on June 26th, 2023 and this video covers days 34-36. (July29th-31st). Will someone eventually hike in with a chain saw and cut that tree up ? Or is it just part of the trail forever ?

Eventually the forest service or volunteers will remove it. It takes longer in wilderness areas though because anything motorized is prohibited. That means they have to either hike in or ride horses and then use a hand saw or axe to cut it. Chainsaws are not allowed.
