Some of the conflicts people asked you about; Scholars & Historians have spent years if not decades or more studying some of these conflicts! So to put 10 to 15 years of study into a 30 min video is extremely hard & you do a great job! The one conflict that has been baffling Scholars & Historians for 100’s of years, is the Third Severian war. Not so much on Military great tactical maneuvering & some major blunders ( we know now why when Spartacus did reach Alpine way ) he chose to turn his Army around. But the REAL mystery to all of us Scholars is; how the Hell did he keep a bunch Warring Clans, Cultures & Slaves that normally have been killing each other for Centuries before the expansion of the Roman Empire lol united for 1 common cause??!! We do know he must have had some EXTREMELY Loyal General’s! But to ACTUALLY keep of all the different Nationalities, Cultures, Clans, Tripes completely loyal? We know there was a split between him and one of his greatest Generals Crixus. But many of us ( including myself ) believe that was a Military tactical decision, to help the men, women, and children, Slaves, to try and get them out of Rome’s reach. What we don’t know is how Spartacus kept a bunch of Extremely Vicious Gladiators, murders, cutthroats and rapists in line? That is an AMAZING accomplishment in itself? When that needs MUCH more debate!

"It would require a great philosopher and historian to explain the causes of the famous Seven Years' War in which Europe was engaged and in which Barry's regiment was now on its way to take part. Let it suffice to say, that England and Prussia were allies and at war against the French, the Swedes, the Russians and the Austrians." Loved the Barry Lyndon music on the background.
I’m Québécois, born in Fort Lauderdale! Florida has a large French Canadian population-some seasonal and some being “long time visitors.” Not as many English Canadians, who all hate us anyway.
Here in America (US), that's we call it, the French and Indian War. I didn't learn about the European theater of the Seven Years War until I was much older, in school we mostly focused on the conquest of Canada and the Ohio River Valley. This conflict really was the true World War I in many ways.
Wow Prussia got THE luckiest break of all time with Peter III who then got GOT'd. 17th-19th century Europe is just wild. Also pretty terrible how often Austria, France, Britain, Germany, and Russia were in conflict between the decline of Iberian hegemony through the end of WWI.
Hmm, you omitted a small element - The Treaty of Paris gave all lands in North America...except for the two small islands of St-Pierre and Miquelon on the southern coast of Newfoundland. This has actually had some historical significance as when Canadian cod fishing in the area was being controlled for several years to allow fish populations to recover from overfishing back in the 1990s, France actually took advantage of the situation with those two islands to increase their own fishing fleets.
George II's death also possibly helped change the course of world history: George III came to the throne and set off a chain of events that might have led to the American Revolutionary War (although PM Lord North was the MAJOR villain of the whole taxation and military crisis).

The East India Company deserves a series of its own. From minor trading power getting picked on by the Dutch VOC and slapped down by Mughals to a major regional powerhouse with (at its height) a private army some 200,000 strong and wealthy/important enough as a commerical institution to force the Crown to bail them out.

Excellent vid.! Couple of things: (1) Madras is pronounced "Mad-raas", and (2) the British victory in India was not a victory for the British Crown but rather the British East India Company - who would have full administrative control of the sub-continent until this was taken from them after the Indian Mutiny of 1857 - 58.
The choice of "I Vow to Thee My Country" with the rise of British victories is a nice choice (though being a bit anachronistic as the words and tune were written in the 20th century).

Thank you for this informative work. Voltare tried to talk Fredrick, his friend, out of war but having inherited an expensive, oversize army and feeling a woman would fold quickly he claimed Silesia. He was not a great man as we say but a fool. The British added Great to their name and began a truly great enterprise, the Industrial Revolution and Pax Britannica.
No they didn’t. Great Britain goes as far back as Rome, in which they differentiated between Lesser Britain (Brittany) and Greater Britain (Great Britain). After Scotland joined, it finally became the Kingdom of Great Britain, which is ironically something the Romans never achieved even though they gave them the names to use 😂😂
I think the part of the Carnatic war that happened in India had a few details missed. Like the part that where the commander of the Bengal forces defected to the British with a large portion of the army. That was the root cause of the defeat. The defector Mir Jafar was made the new ruler of Bengal by the British.

But it is ONE of the very few WONDERFUL none-biased UA-cam History Channels on all of UA-cam, keep it up kiddo!

Late-game Frederick is literally the King of RNG.
You know, watching a lot of these kind of videos, it's fascinating just how many major battles in history are decided by the weather.
OMG there was a territory called "Pomerania", I now have a picture of little fluffy dogs all lined up with muskets and the peaked hats of the Prussian's.

We in Québec call it the war of conquest.
Some even call it the "french and indian war"
while some brave ones call it "the World War 0"
"French and Indian war" is a common name for it in the USA
I’m Québécois, born in Fort Lauderdale! Florida has a large French Canadian population-some seasonal and some being “long time visitors.” Not as many English Canadians, who all hate us anyway.
Here in America (US), that's we call it, the French and Indian War. I didn't learn about the European theater of the Seven Years War until I was much older, in school we mostly focused on the conquest of Canada and the Ohio River Valley. This conflict really was the true World War I in many ways.
@@thunderbird1921 Well I think that the Napoleonic wars should also probably constitute a world war. We really did start counting from the wrong one.
I have an idea. Why not call it the World War of 1756? WWI becomes the World War of 1914 and WWII becomes the World War of 1939.
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Historians: Let’s call a 9 year war the 7 YEARS WAR
It makes sense since it was a frontier skirmish only in Americas for 1st 2 years and no nations officially declared war.
Actually it lasted 7 years for those countries that conined it. For their allies, it lasted a bit longer, ie the British and French.
It had more names than those actually.
@@Anaris10 This is probably closest to the truth. A lot of wars are named differently in different countries. Particularly civil wars.
Pure gold right here! Thanks for making this compilation. I think it'll be quite useful in a history class I'm teaching.

England to Prussia: How dare you not fight off FOUR different countries who are all surrounding you while we are safe across the English Channel!
Well Britain was by itself fighting several different foreign armies and the French across the globe so I think that's fair.
@Dod o against all odds? Unlike other countries, they can hide on their island so they dont have to worry that much about invasion, giving them the ability to throw soldiers anywhere overseas
It's not like Britain didn't help the British army's just wouldn't stand a chance against the french force fighting on land wasn't really what Britain did plus they had to protect their land all over the world

@Matthew Smith They’re calling it Myanmar now basically after aang su kyi said it was okay.
Myanmar was under a military junta when they changed names(and is again now) so the UK and US didn’t really want to give them an inch and neither did the democratic parties in Myanmar at the time.

@Aiden Gamer 2.0 At the time of the 7 yr war , America was a British colony .The taxes to pay for this war were a large part in why America became America .
Britain should've allowed American representation in parliament- with a proviso that America would become an independent nation within thirty years. Sadly, George III saw these colonies as his own private possessions.

The East India Company deserves a series of its own. From minor trading power getting picked on by the Dutch VOC and slapped down by Mughals to a major regional powerhouse with (at its height) a private army some 200,000 strong and wealthy/important enough as a commerical institution to force the Crown to bail them out.

Couple of things: (1) Madras is pronounced "Mad-raas", and (2) the British victory in India was not a victory for the British Crown but rather the British East India Company - who would have full administrative control of the sub-continent until this was taken from them after the Indian Mutiny of 1857 - 58.
You should make a video about d'Eon de Beaumont. About his life and his contribution to the seven year war.
The choice of "I Vow to Thee My Country" with the rise of British victories is a nice choice (though being a bit anachronistic as the words and tune were written in the 20th century).
Elgar.
Funnily enough I vow to thee my country has different lyrics of The World in Union...

@Sakkra101 True, but a little overdone. Using a different (and gorgeous) British hymn, specifically about warfare, is a good choice.
The French demolished Fort Duquesne to prevent its capture, and Fort Pitt was built on the same site but considerably bigger. You can see the outlines of both in Point State Park.

The fool made Prussia a european superpower and modernized it.
The soviet-Afghan war please
I think the part of the Carnatic war that happened in India had a few details missed. Like the part that where the commander of the Bengal forces defected to the British with a large portion of the army. That was the root cause of the defeat. The defector Mir Jafar was made the new ruler of Bengal by the British.
