Sonic and Tails sprites were nice in the two games prior to Sonic 3, but I don't know why they decided to change in the third game. Was it to innovate the franchise at the time? I don't know, but I liked the change. I liked the old Super Sonic song in its prototype version much more than the final version, I don't know why. @@CheemsSD but that does not make sense whatsoever???? sonic 3 (and knuckles) was almost RIGHT AFTER sonic 2, if not a few days. While sonic 1 and sonic 2 has a massive time gap, it doesn't make sense for Sonic to have this massive redesign, glad they stuck with the Classic in Sonic Mania.
@@MikeOrigins they gave him a massive redesign because they wanted his sprites to look accurate to the actual artwork of his design. I personally prefer the S3 sprites over the S1/2 style tbh.
I actually have to agree. I love the sonic 2 sprites and the fact that these sprites are extremely similar makes me want them more than the ones we got.
