Code official here, though from another state. This is definitely illegal. In a perfect world this video would go to the code enforcement officer or fire marshal/official and be dealt with, but my guess is the city doesn’t want to deal with it so they’re just going to ignore because politics. It’s pretty cut and dry (assuming they use ICC as a base which most states do) so I hope I’m wrong and they enforce this. Also, fire inspections generally have to be done once a year or at least once every 3 year so if they’re being done, Scientology is moving those beds in an out of the room for the fire inspections. Logistically they’d have to go to their main contact for the property and go from there which may be a bit of a pain, but you are absolutely correct that this is a code violation (particularly fire code) and if it were in my jurisdiction it would need to be dealt with immediately.

A few years ago, I stayed at a similar type of motel in both style and age. I went to plug my computer in behind the little refrigerator and there were extension cords plugged into extension cords for all of the electrical needs of the room. It was a typical octopus of a wiring horror show in an otherwise modest normal motel room. I complained to no results or even a sympathetic voice cause for concern. When I got home from my trip about a week later and watching a crime show where a fire ensued, it reminded me of that wiring mess in that motel room. I called the fire marshal for the county who insisted to me I wasn't over reacting and if one motel room was set up for a disaster, how many more of their rooms were poised for a similar fate. Two weeks later the motel was not only closed but permanently shut down. Maybe the Clearwater officials aren't the ones to plead to. No one knows how a city official might be connected to Scientology's game. All one needs to ask themselves is how the council has treated Scientology's unbridled growth and purchase of their downtown with little concern. Maybe other organizations need to be contacted. If 10 people are in one room, can you imagine all the other fire safety infractions awaiting the fire marshal?

Good points. Clearwater Beach has taken notice of Scientologists buying up property adjacent to the tax-free ' Church grounds ' . The City gets little tax revenue out of thier property..Real estate developers have dangled multimillion dollar deals in front of City officials- if only those pesky Church properties weren't in the way of Progress..
So now there's a war between greedy City / developers and Scientology..
Could this eventually escalate into an FBI raid/ WACO style tragedy ?

A room is a room. They're smart enough to get the electricity right. And since people aren't supposed to be connected or distracted, they won't plug 10 appliances on the same spot.
But if they ask food stamps or financial help to pay a slumlord, that can be discussed. Only illegal migrants pay for such conditions or way worse (in terms of security), and the state cann't help them. But for those who are helped, The payers need to know what for and inspect. You do it once a year for restaurants, don't you ? It's a health problem. 10 people, one "bathroom", one window. i"m sorry to say, but prosecute the landlord or stop helping the people who feed him. Solutiion 2 is always preferred. It could sway half-believers or get some a free ride.

      @@sugarpuddin For a few reasons.
      1. They are from elsewhere and generally too nervous to rock the boat.
      2. They are cult devotees and tend to do as they are told.
      3. They do not wish to risk their standing in the cult.
      4. The obedience and fear factor has been drummed into them, as with any high control cult.
      5. Cognitive dissonance about their own situation. Again typical cult behaviour pattern.
Very few will complain until something starts to wake up in them. If they do complain, like the nail that is sticking up, they will be hammered down into position again. The places these people are sent from would not necessarily be just anyone. They would tend to be reluctant to send people who would make too much noise about it.
Generally it is all about the cult's control mechanism and the compliance of those who only want to stay in their favour that not enough people will rock the boat. My guess is if they did something about it, the cult would jack the costs up exponentially to suit.

Contact the fire department with this video.
They can then do a safety/occupancy check.
    As well as fire inspection.
If they fail they can be shut down immediately.
It has nothing to do with religion but with public safety.
Every business to include private, religion buildings have to be up to code and are subject to inspection.
If they claim to be a hotel/motel and are charging money, they are a business, not a home. Even if their clients are 1 specific organization.
They are subject to fire safety inspections.
The fire marshal may have to be given room numbers to look in on so that they are not shown, the staged rooms for show.

@Abe Froman - I would agree. But what of the rest of Congress and the National Security State?
Neither party represents you or America, unless you are the one percent. If you vote for a Republican or a Democrat you are voting for your dispossession and for war. You are voting in favor of a DHS sponsored SWAT team breaking into your home at night and murdering you or your wife or your children and most certainly the family pet dog.
Both sides have identical policies that continue to harm the working people of the USA - things that take the most money, things that have the most effect on the people: drug wars, privacy and the surveillance state, war against whistle blowers & openness of government, war against small business, the endless wars, the continual counterfeiting of money by the privately owned Federal Reserve bank, the complete support of Wall Street corruption & corporate oligarchy in shaping the social fabric with dreadful policies, there is virtually no difference! And for that reason, those issues - the most important ones - aren't even being discussed by either side because there is no difference! Both political parties are irredeemably evil. Neither have any redeeming virtues. Both sides, and the media, sell out to their corporate sponsors! And you could end the censorship of social media. [see citation 4]
Reagan ushered an era of unimpeded corporate sponsorship; Obama created a medical insurance gulag to slay the people; and, Clinton thoroughly deregulated the banking and insurance industries (leading to the current financial collapse). Trump, ironically, laundered CIA coke money through his casino - He is, in fact, part of the National Security State (a transnational criminal organization) refer to citations 1-3 below.
Choosing between one political party over another is like choosing between cancer or AIDs! It's like voting for the Gambino's over the Columbo crime family!
So much could be done quickly to enormously improve the American life. Over Night you could ban people in Congress from owning shares in companies they are charged to regulate. Over Night you could end lobbying and the legalization of corporate bribery. Immediately government could put an end to the FDA from receiving money from the big pharma monopolies and end the practice of having their executives work for the FDA. Immediately you could stop media companies from receiving so much influence money from corporations and the CIA they would otherwise be reporting on. Over Night you could ban them from passing on your personal information to others. Over Night you could end the illegal monopolies that rule the countries. Immediately you could stop the privately owned Federal Reserve - the proprietors of inflation, BlackRock/Monsanto/Bayer and endless war.
The laws and systems are in place - Right Now - to immediately put an end to so much suffering and poverty.
But the government does not represent the people. The government works for the highest bidder: Titans and Goliaths of industry and banking. It’s not a democratic republic - It’s a corporate government alliance. Voting changes nothing. There is no reason to be optimistic about government. There is no reason to be optimistic about media. This is Neo-Feudalism!
Peace will come to earth when the people have more to do with each other and governments less.
      Citations 1 - 3:
Mary Carter Paints - a CIA front company - became the lucrative Resorts International: Trump’s Taj Mahal hotel and casino in Atlantic City.
In 1987, following the assassination of his three biz partners, Trump suddenly got the controlling stake in Resorts International.
      {See Mary Carter Resorts Study (1994) or Evidentiary Realism (page 35)[2] and this article NY Times [1], SEC lawsuit findings [3]}
BCCI bank had closed at the time following Congressional hearings thus ending the CIA's fun. Trumps Taj just filled the void. [Similar to Atlantis Casino Resort Spa today.]
The CIA whacked Trumps 3 biz partners in a single night leaving Trump with full control. Then used his Taj to launder drug money when the BCCI bank was shut down!
During his Presidency, Trump protected the CIA by blocking the release of the JFK documentation.
At the time, one of my uncles was his accountant at the Taj. It was around early 1990s, I was working for Transamerica Finance, and he told me these crazy stories over the phone. That was the first time I ever heard of Trump...

"Do-gooding" like trying to save people from Scientology who don't care to be saved, is for their own popularity, for people like Aaron and Rinder and Leah Rimini to get accolades as saviors when these people are still blaming Scientology for ruining their lives or their children's lives. I gave up on Scieintology when I saw that Hubbard had anger issues and so I realized the therapy didn't do what I wanted an effective therapy to do. Nice to see the truth. Back in my day before the 1st external living space was set up at the QI (Quality Inn CW) we were in even smaller rooms in the FH (Built in 1926!) with one bath and 12 guys. Those bunks were hand made with 2x4s and 1x1 slats with a 2 inch piece of foam for a mattress. The FH was raided in '82 for fire code violations that did NOT include the berthing situation. Eventually more and more properties were bought so 90% of FH rooms could be for public. When I arrived at the INT Base, it's road side motel roads were next to the MCI and had tall ceiling and bunks were 4 high! And for a real way back when trip, when the FH was 1st bought the locker rooms under the main lobby were converted to dorms with 3 high bunks for single women on one side and single men on the other. We did have an open shower room (maybe 4 showers, 4 urinals and 4 toilets). Each side held at least 50 people, no windows and only one way in or out, total fire trap. It was disbanded when "NOTs" came out and converted to an HGC, maybe '79 or 1980.

Yes, and one of the justifications is “it’s like on a ship, like in the navy” (maybe a submarine?). I had never been in the navy when I was a student at Flag in the ‘80s pre-Miscavige and the bunks were 4-high. The air conditioning stopped working for a bit and the top bunk just under the ceiling was a sweat box!
And since sleep was short and precious, everybody hurrying up to use the one bathroom together (it fit about 4 at a time with one on the toilet), was quite an exercise in coordination.
Also, if one set of bunks was only 2-high, I’m pretty sure that shows a lack of enough students to fill up the room, not a lack of bunks to set up.

There is definitely a double standard in based in those pictures. The people who work so hard are treated horribly while DM lives the high life. Thank you for showing us the proof.

In rural Lincolnshire here in England we have many houses of multiple occupants, but often they are shut down and condemned by fire safety in case there was a fire because of their lack of chance in even getting out due to overcrowding. Don’t your city fire people need to visit every year and sign it off for safety?

That's not only a MAJOR FIRE HAZARD, and the airflow and breathing must be suffocating. All YT channels, blogs, websites that are focusing on exploiting what scientology truly is and what they do to people should share photos like this.
Homeless shelters are luxe compared to that room.
This doesn't really shock or surprise me. Hearing about the abuse scientology does to members by having them do extremely dangerous work that should be skilled, licensed and have protective gear, the punishments for even petty infractions and the abuse minors go through on a hourly and daily basis is probably extremely deviant and dangerous as well is beyond heinous.
No church or tax exempt organization should be exempt for failing to abided by rules that other businesses and individuals must follow. If they do, that should end their tax exempt status retroactively ASAP! I don't know why the Catholic Church/diocese haven't been ripped of their taxes exemption years ago.

I'm not an attorney and maybe there are different laws for "dorms," but here is a cut n paste from Pinellas County Code of Ordinances Section 22-300- Dwelling Space:
(1)Required space in dwelling unit. Every dwelling unit shall contain at least 150 square feet of floor space for the first occupant thereof and at least 100 additional square feet of floor area per additional occupant. The floor area shall be calculated on the basis of the total area of all habitable rooms.(2)Required space in sleeping rooms. In every dwelling unit of two or more rooms, every room occupied for sleeping purposes by one occupant shall contain at least 70 square feet of floor space, and every room occupied for sleeping purposes by more than one occupant shall contain at least 50 square feet of floor space for each occupant thereof.

I lived at Hacienda Gardens for EPF. Bunk beds, many women in apartment. Shower was flooding into bedroom no hot water. Then hot water got fixed. I got my money out to buy a pan so flooding into shag rug would stop. Muster up in the morning. Painting crew and dish crew for dining hall during my stay. Other projects for special events and carry rows of chairs out of auditorium. Mind over matter lifting heavy things. Backbreaking. Children working way into night. Immigrants on minister visa. Adolescents sent like reform school if misbehaving by their Scientologist parents.

Excellent video. Very important news. When I was in the SO at Flag in 1988 I slept in a 3-tier bunk bed. I was the oldest guy in the 9-person room and they gave me the top bunk, but back then I was younger and much sprier. I pity the age 60 plus single SO members there today.
