My truck started doing this at red lights and stop signs. So I gotta keep pushing the gas as I'm going through the light or u gotta pull over to turn the truck off and start it back on.
My 03 4.7 Dakota QC with the NV3500 trans. would do that same exact thing. After replacing the IAC, all the sensors, and have a spare computer. Turns out it was coil #7 grounding out on the block never registered any codes…
My 07 5.7 shut off on me while doing 45mph and would not start back up, even with a jump box. Has it towed home and the next morning it started right up but was making a loud noise more prevalent on the passenger side. I took it to a shop and they told me the torque converter was the culprit of the noise and that it had seized other components of the transmission. I was never slipping gears before the truck turned off on its own.
