Imam al-Busairi | Muhammad is the best of the Arabs and Ajam by Dimi Bint Abba

Beautiful rendering by the famous Mauritanian singer Dimi Bint Abba (ديمي منت آبا) of a poem written by Imam Al-Busiri (البوصيري). Imam al-Busairi was a Sanhaji Berber Muslim poet belonging to the Shadhiliyya order, being a direct disciple of Sheikh Abul Abbas al-Mursi. His magnum opus, the Qaṣīda al-Burda (Poem of the Mantle, قصيدة البردة), in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, is one of the most popular Islamic poems in the Arabic language.
The poem reads:
مُحَمَّدٌ أَشْرَفُ الأعْرَابِ والعَجَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ خَيْرٌ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى قَدَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ باسِطُ المَعْرُوفِ جَامِعَةً
مُحَمَّدٌ صاحِبُ الإِحْسانِ والكَرَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ تاجُ رُسْلٍ اللهِ قاطِبَةً
مُحَمَّدٌ صادِقُ الأٌقْوَالِ والكَلِمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ ثابِتُ المِيثاقِ حافِظُهُ
مُحَمَّدٌ طيِّبُ الأخْلاقِ والشِّيَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ خُبِيَتْ بالنُّورِ طِينَتُهُ
مُحَمَّدٌ لَمْ يَزَلْ نُوراً مِنَ القِدَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ حاكِمٌ بالعَدْلِ ذُو شَرَفٍ
مُحَمَّدٌ مَعْدِنُ الإنْعامِ وَالحِكَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ خَيْرُ خَلْقِ اللهِ مِنْ مُضَرٍ
مُحَمَّدٌ خَيْرُ رُسْلِ اللهِ كُلِّهِمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ دِينُهُ حَقَّ النَّذِرُ بِهِ
مُحَمَّدٌ مُجْمَلٌ حَقَاً عَلَى عَلَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ ذِكْرُهُ رُوحٌ لأَنْفُسِنَا
مُحَمَّدٌ شُكْرُهُ فَرْضٌ عَلَى الأُمَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ زِينَةُ الدُّنْيَا ومُهْجَتُها
مُحَمَّدٌ كاشِفُ الغُمَّاتِ وَالظُّلَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ سَيِّدٌ طابَتْ مناقِبُهُ
مُحَمَّدٌ صاغَهُ الرَّحْمنُ بِالنِّعَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ صَفْوَةُ البارِي وخِيرَتُهُ
مُحَمَّدٌ طاهِرٌ ساتِرُ التُّهَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ ضاحِكٌ لِلضَّيْفِ مَكْرُمَةً
مُحَمَّدٌ جارُهُ واللهِ لَمْ يُضَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ طابَتِ الدُّنيا ببِعْثَتِهِ
مُحَمَّدٌ جاءَ بالآياتِ والْحِكَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ يَوْمَ بَعْثِ النَّاسِ شَافِعُنَا
