I actually on started watching the show during December of last year so for me and started in 2005 so it wasn't really that long, and writing wise, seasons 5&6 were a bit...lopsided.

His last words from the series were heartbreaking, and seeing him tear up and begging that he didnt want to go really hit home! David will always be the best Doctor to me and Rose will always be the best sidekick! :)
Coming from someone who actually comes from the same country as David, he is Scottish, not Irish. I believe he was brought up in West Lothian and studied at the Royal Conservatoire (formally RSAMD) in Glasgow :) He's a Scot! We got one of the best :) I love David. He is my favourite doctor. I really miss him on the show, but I'm excited to see Peter Capaldi :)
Never saw the show until he was no longer the Doctor. But I must admit, the reason he is so enjoyable to watch is that he seems to be a genuinely nice person.
What got me was the way Tennant's Doctor left. It wasn't like Eccleston's Doctor who regnerated with a smile with Rose by his side. The 10th's regeneration was sad and lonely and that really moved me.
I kinda like the whole regeneration thing, but it is sad to say goodbye to all those brilliant actors. I watched this after the end of time, and almost bawled when the other guy asked if David knew any of his last lines. Bravo David Tennant, hope they'll bring him back.
I've been watching Dr. Who since Christopher Eccleston (2005) so I've loved watching David Tennant as well. I do miss him sometimes playing the Doctor but I think Matt does an amazing job too. Mind you I would love to see David again in an episode with Matt. I think that would be awsome!

*continued* While a whimper to the great energy and saga of David's Doctor, X, From the infectious Rose onto the hilarious Donna and all the ventures inbetween, to the many, many spin-offs and other careers and characters, David's doctor deserved more as the fans wished for more - yet while his line was pained, his final moment matched his explosive, joyful character, a firefall of matching wonderful shade, a color and farewell fitting the torch to forge the next. Adieu, Allons-y
This interview was not filmed at the same time. You can tell by the way the interviewer asks the questions. He's looking at some X on the wall in front of him that's supposed to be David. He's so stoic and blank like he's talking to no one. Which he is.
David said that he loved how the Doctor got to show an entire range of character traits that he got to play. It's so true and David did such an incredible job of it. He could be extremely funny, almost even childlike and full of wonder - but he could also be extremely driven, energetic and dramatic, like an avenging angel. In particular, I thought seeing his despair & frustration when the Master chose to let himself die, as well as 10's reluctance to regenerate himself, was very touching.
He said 42 which is really funny because during the day of the doctor in 2013 he was 42 where he made his return for the first time in 3 years was that a coincidence or did David try and hint at something? You decide 😂😂
They gave David something special, something that as this era, this time's Doctor, earned and deserved. Other doctors simply went away, or were convenient but David brought in this new vivid colorfulness, playfulness not seen in previous doctors. Even Ecc was darker than David, though both did wonders for the character. But who else as the Doctor gave tribute to *his* Doctor, and earned an extra year or two, with a voice matching fans, "I don't want to go." (cont)
I don't mind that David left, since you have to move on in this show. I mean, in that respect it's one of the hardest shows for fans because you can never get too attached to main. You know they're gonna go at some point you just don't know when. We had to move on from the 10th Doctor, and while I DO miss David's Doctor, I did try my best to move on from him and onto Matt Smith... I TRIED anyway. But I couldn't. Not because it wasn't David, and not because I don't like Matt, I think Matt's actually rather good. But because of Moffat. Moffat ruined the show.
Had Russell T Davies decided not to leave I reckon David would've stuck around for more seasons, ah that would've been fantastic. But I think David did right, bowing out with Russell & co.

I'm sure you'll see Tennant come back for the 50th anniversary special, whatever it turns out to be. Eccleston has already said he's not interested in doing it though.
I love the comments saying they want David to come back as the doctor. Comments from 14 years ago... And now he will be back. He will be the doctor probably the last time. And this time, when he regenerates, I feel anything will be the same.
Agreed. He is The Doctor. Matt Smith is Just a doctor to me. I being a guy who never cries have nearly cried every time I've watched his final episode and even during this...
Tom Baker & David Tennant seem to be tied as people's favorite versions. I like Ten the most currently because of how Tennant plays the character (lol I'm new to the fandom, I'm only on ep 8 of season 3). The emotion and skill he puts into playing Ten is just amazingly breathless to watch. As for Baker, I've only seen one of his episodes so I can't judge quite yet :) But my Dad and I are going to watch the whole series, Classic era to Modern era starting next weekend.
David why did you leave us!!!! He was and always will be my FAVORITE doctor! My favorite part was everything but I especially loved how whenever he was injured he waay overacted it but he overacted it REALLY WELL. I LOVE YOU FOREVER DAVID THE ONE TRUE DOCTOR!
I will never forget my first love and favorite Doctor who is played by none other by David Tennant! I miss him and glad he is returning for 50th anniversary episode!
i agree about the regenerations but David was the best Doctor sense Tom Baker it would have been great but the follow up Doctor wasn't as good as him i will really miss him he made me love the doctor i will always love him as the doctor and he played him the best no one could have played him as good and they were so alike. I hope you will one day make a reappearance but until then thank you for being the doctor you have made me love him
I'm only halfway through the 4th season, so 10 is still my Doctor, and I'm afraid he'll ALWAYS be my Doctor! He's just so perfect as the Doctor!
The best doctor is David tenant :)
YEAHHHHH
David why did you leave us!!!! He was and always will be my FAVORITE doctor! My favorite part was everything but I especially loved how whenever he was injured he waay overacted it but he overacted it REALLY WELL. I LOVE YOU FOREVER DAVID THE ONE TRUE DOCTOR!

You were not just fantastic, you were the best
I am only watching doctor who with my son and we are onto the 3rd dr but I really miss David as the dr. I wish they could have kept him longer.
You know I admire David Tennant for stepping down. He knows "you either die the hero or live long enough to be the villain" He has my respect
He makes me laugh (all the time), and he makes me cry harder than i've ever cried watching a television show. I'll miss him dearly. I dread the end of this season, I know i'll just cry buckets!!
(I'm so happy I started watching Doctor Who, it's a rare treasure of television! I'm only sad I didn't start watching sooner.)
