So where does Peter Ustinov's character cross over into Turkey? I recall there was a lot of water visible at the border station, but none of the Greek/Turkish border crossings seem near enough to the ocean. Is the Maritsa River particularly wide?

The bridge that he crosses just prior to the border control is the Meriç Bridge in Edirne.
