After a week of sensationalized "news" running on a seemingly endless loop, it's so good to view _Firing Line._ Margaret and the producers ask meaningful questions that elicit thoughtful responses regarding issues that matter.
I'm grateful for Georgia's Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, as well as Gabriel Stirling. Both of these men are examples of character and integrity. They're both Republicans, yet they accepted the result of the 2020 election while resisting all that came against them in efforts to overtirn the election.

I agree with Brad Raffensperger that it takes more strength to build something up than to tear something down. I am thankful that a man of integrity like him was in charge of certifying Georgia's elections and refused to cave into the pressure being exerted by Trump.
I recently voted in Pennsylvania by mail-in ballot for the first time. I usually vote at the polls, but I was curious about using mail-in balloting. The process was quite easy and convenient, and it's good to know that this method of voting is available in my state. The most important feature of mail-in voting is the ability to track a ballot on-line. I was able to verify well before election day that my ballot had been received. It gave me peace of mind in knowing that my ballot counted in an important swing state leading into the 2024 Presidential election. Happy Blue Year 2024!!! 💙🌊🌊🌊☑

    • @ARepublicIfYouCanKeepIt

I've cast my ballot by mail more often than not. First as a deployed service member, and now as someone who travels full-time.
It's always been safe and secure, and has gotten progressively better where I'm now able to track my ballot online.
The goal should always be to have more people; to allow their voices to be heard. Mail-on voting accomplishes just that.
Before the pandemic, four states had run elections 100% by mail. Some for as long as 36 years at that point. Voter participation is always quite good, and the results are timely and accurate with all but non-existent fraud.
These are models for the rest of the country to follow.
Fun fact: The first instance of vote-in voting occurred during the Civil War so that soldiers who couldn't travel back to their home state could have their vote matter.

Although very few people out of that group probably took the following into consideration, it's worth noting that our Founding Fathers were indeed committed to checks and balances. Congress has the authority to override a presidential veto. If the issue was important enough, they wanted the will of the people to ultimately prevail. But to your point, that number demonstrates how polarized the electorate was and probably still is. They didn't trust Trump but didn't believe that Biden wouldn't protect their interests.
