Born and raised in a very small town in south Texas. We come in all colors, ethnicities and flavors. Sometimes we fight with each other, but we will have each other's back when outsiders come to town looking for trouble. That's just a cultural fact.

Exactly. Small towns in Texas are like a family and I'm talking siblings, not cousins. My neighbor and I might yell and swear at each other. Hell, we might get into fist fights... Let some out of towner roll by and call him any kind of slur. MF better be hitting moch 2 before his words touch my ears.

It was some bs when CMT cancelled the video. When they did that the song and video rocketed to #1. I don't even listen to country music but I had to see for myself what the hoopla was about.
There was nothing wrong. I've heard a lot of songs that glorify gun violence, senseless crimes and violence towards police.
The guitar riff after the chorus sounds like start of the Eddie Van Halen solo in Michael Jackson's Beat It.

Let me see 254 counties minus 5 = 250. The drive from California to Texas is about half the distance acrossthe US. All of us no matter who we are decide to live in these small towns for family, neighbors. Just like any neighborhood there are rules. The hood, the suburban areas. Just dont come here and try to think that you can get a Bragg slap from the NYC DA. You come here we welcome you (except big cities) or I-20. Stay on 1-10. Keep going. This is unfortunately going to get harder. But 254 minus 250. Do the numbers. We want families and friends to come. But don't try this in 250 of the rest of Texas counties. Fill your car up and keep going. Unless your family, your schools and everything else is what you want. NO ONE cares about color or race or ethnicity. We want good for our families and ourselves. Don't do it if you think your that tough. Texas got more protection than any other state in the country. Let us live in peace and don't try to hurt us.

I highly recommend Thomas Mac. His most recent song is a victim of judging a song by it's title.
Having watched some of your other videos I definitely wanted to see where you went with this one. You took it exactly where it needed to go. Lot of people didn't understand the intent behind this song and got off on the racial tangent or the violence tangent. But the song was a good basic warning. Don't try that blue city shtick in a rural area.
The small town I grew up in has gotten somewhat bigger. You can see kind of a city backdrop to it. But one thing hasn't changed...and that's the heat! You'll still see open carry at a gas station or a grocery store. And if ya act up in that place, not only could you catch a bullet, but the justice system ain't gonna be ya friend either.
Wish those protesters would have cut the charged lines those firefighters were defending their communities with....

This is my first time watching you and might I say, I love your energy and your reaction to this song. I believe you like myself, didn't view the context of the video as being about racism, but, in fact the laws being broken and the disrespect that was being shown. Small town are just better in general.a small community means u know most people, therefore u will treat them with more respect then u would a stranger. It gets people closer together and they will defend each other.
And for anyone who calls this racist, it is all races in small towns who help each other not just one race.
Cities just turn people cold bitter and evil. Everyone is only thinking of themselves, even if its at the cost of an other happiness.

I live in a small town. When the BLM protests were going on, I happened to go past the court house and saw a man holding a BLM sign. He was alone except for a 3 or 4 year old child. I rolled down the window and told him to go home. None of that is happening here. When I came back by, he was gone.
Its different in small towns cause i live in a 2k population town and we support black people as much as white

Are you aware of the history of what happened at the courthouse they show in the video? The producers, their staff, and the artists in the video sure as hell knew, and they used it anyway.
