Federal Truck Build - One of a Kind

- This project was first conceived as an open vehicle, somewhat along the lines of the very early "muscle cars" of the pre WW I road locomotives, like the big Mercers, Stutzes, Simplexes, Marmons and so forth. Pacific Northwest weather forced a more usable layout with a closed cab with niceties like doors and windshield wipers. It started with a junk '66 Dodge D-300, is titled as a '57 Chevy 3500, and will end-up as a 1947 Federal. Go figure, and enjoy the video! More on this project soon, so please subscribe.
Looks like she's shaping up to be one Hell of a truck.
That's the plan! I'll keep updating the progress. Jeff
You do nice work. Looks great.
Thank You, Sir. That's why I am rewiring the dash. The next guy who owns this will have a quality build. Jeff
Can't wait to see how this develops. Nice work!
I machined the cab mount hole in a half inch steel plate yesterday and will be welding it to one of the new cross-members today. That will finish the chassis and I will make a progress video prior to painting it.
I really enjoyed your video on your Federal truck and was wondering who you got to redo the gauges for you I have a 38 Federal that I'm getting ready to start on
Great to hear from another Federal owner! Bob's Speedometer in Howell Michigan: www.bobsspeedometer.com did the work. Hold onto your chair - instrument restoration is NOT cheap. I have posted 3 Federal videos so far on my youtube site at "UA-cam.com/@oldiron". Best of luck on your project. Jeff
@Oldiron thanks so much for that info I seen yours on the video looks good
@@Oldiron I hope not more than a grand but I'll see what happens
@@leonhenson8348 I will be posting a video on polishing aluminum. I had to go to UA-cam U to figure it out so I could polish the bumpers and front fenders. Stay tuned. Jeff
