I recently bought this Compressor as an alternative one to my main one which is the R vox, I'm waiting for my client to send me his song so after he does I'll definitely try this one
Thank you for tuning in! And thanks for the kind words. I really try my best to deliver quality content in each video. Some of the videos I do multiple times until I’m happy with the information in it. This was one I did twice because the first time didn’t feel right lol.
Hmm... Wouldnt it be wise to level match the bypassed / not bypassed vox audio? Seems like the make up gain on the compressor is set to a slightly louder volume and thus fooling our ears somewhat? I mean of course the louder audio is going to sound more in your face. Sitting at a crap listening position atm so the compressor might add more than just a louder volume? Harmonics etc?
What plugins do you own. There are a lot of companies that make an LA2A emulation. Pro tools has their BF2A. Plugin alliance has their bx_opto. Softube VC2A. Ikmultimedia is white 2a. Look like there is a free one called LaLa but it’s not AAX format so it won’t run in protools unless you use bluecats or something to wrap it.
Great video, so a little doubt i had it is, how can i know a good parameter to put the peak reduction? only moving it and hear it by ear? Thanks, greetings from México, please upload that song, liked it very much.
Hey so you can push this easily to have it between a -6dB and -3dB reduction easily. I’m not sure if she ever put this out. I will need to check. Thank you so much for tuning in and checking out my content!!
@@MattMontanez ahhh tape emulation?? Not too familiar with plugin alliance emulation. But yeah rn I’m using waves ssl and the uad teletronix 2a so thanks
Hey! Thanks for tuning in! The CLA-2A is more warmer and adds more color when pushed because it is based off a tube compressor the 3A is more transparent and is based off the solid state option comp is a bit quicker and I’d say has a little more presence. Here is my video on the 3A How To Use: Waves CLA-3A @MattMontanez ua-cam.com/video/TQAlT99I3N4/v-deo.html
What type of audio source do you have it on? Since the LA2A isn’t a fast compressor a lot of the peaks will just go past it and it won’t catch them to compress. You can try slamming the reduction knob and hear it from there. Then dial it back. Or you could need a faster compressor for your source.
I’ve been using this plug in for almost 2 years and you’ve finally got me to understand it - I was basically using it by ear
Dope! Glad You tuned in!! it’s a good sounding plugin too. Stays in my template.

Sweet! Let me know how you like it! Thanks for tuning in.
just picked this up last night, appreciate the video! thanks for keeping it quick and to the point.
You are amazing thank God I now understand the flat and high frequencies knob in the plugin
Thanks for tuning in! Glad this helped
thanks for your clear explanation of this compressor. Appreciated.
Thanks for tuning in glad you enjoyed the content
I love u bro. I really am grateful that u make these videos! So simple but yet so effective at teaching people the basics of these plugins!
Thank you for tuning in! I try my best to make it as easy as I can make it understandable. 🙌🏽
Just bought this and honestly, the Ableton stock 'glue compressor' sounds just as good. Can't tell any difference frankly.
Ableton’s glue compressor is really good. If I remember correctly it’s a model of the ssl buss comp. I had read it is exactly like cytomic “the glue”.
Matt Montanez Yeah it’s nice. And it also has the dry/wet knob.
Glue comp is such a good plugin. I def should use it more.
wow. perfect video. thanks man. gave us some history of it never seen that in a tutorial.

Dude your videos are the BEST
Thanks! Glad you tuned in and you dig them!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
thanks ! where can we listen to the track ?
Unfortunately it was never put out
Do you use the Waves CLA 2A mono or stereo version and when?
Both. Depends on the application. If I’m grouping vocals that are panned then stereo if it’s just on a lead. Mono

you're right its louder

What waves plugin can you use if you don't have CLA 2A?

Awesome content bro. Where does this sit on your chain?? Would I put this after or before an ssl channel e
Thanks glad you tuned in. I put it before my ssl now. That’s because I use the Plugin Alliance emulation. If I was using waves it’ll be after.
@@MattMontanez ahhh tape emulation?? Not too familiar with plugin alliance emulation. But yeah rn I’m using waves ssl and the uad teletronix 2a so thanks
Cla 2a or cla 3a for better color
2a. The 3a is more transparent when compressing.
Great video but YO, what is that beat? It’s 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for tuning in. Glad you enjoyed it. I’ll ask her who the producer is. And drop is social here for you.
The producer goes by Mos here is his IG instagram.com/mosbeats_?igshid=17uk9kjt7lz6m
I learned sumn
are you using only once compressor on vocals.....?
Not always. Most times it’s one compressor. But sometimes I parallel compress or use one that is faster before the LA2A
@@MattMontanez thanks for replying..
It’s a lowpass filter so you compress the high end? Isn't that called a high pass filter?
High pass filter is for low and low pass filter is for high. I know lol
hey i have both the 2-a and the 3-a and i wonder what the difference is between the two because i'm really confused which one i should use

@@MattMontanez Okay, thank you i will watch that video as well
So do you recommend using this on raw vocals or adding after using other compressors?
For me personally I like to use it after other compressors.
I was not able to hear any difference with or without the CLA-2A

@@MattMontanez I mean I was not able to hear the difference in your youtube video.
Ahh I see. Sorry about that. I will make sure for future videos to make a more dramatic change and then dial it back. Thanks for the feedback!
@@MattMontanez yes that's right.
I found this plug-in bumps my CPU use up from near 2% to 20%.. yikes!
Clicking the analog off helps with the cpu use
@@MattMontanez I'll try that, thanks
the real hardware plugin is over 4 thousand dollars too lol
Lol
You could have chose another song bro1🤦🏾
