Gorgeous bracelet. I started learning chainmaille not too long ago, I still a beginner. I would like to try this weave with bigger jump rings, can you please help me figure out what other sizes I can use. Thank you for your tutorial, it is very explicit.
That is gorgeous! :D 💜 for my brain, it was a mindf*k, I probably need to watch this a few times before even giving it a try, then watch it as I´m trying it!
I did not understand the math behind the ring sizes, so I guess I just have to try different rings out and see what works...
I don´t mean in any shape or form that your instructions were bad or anything, I´m just bad with instructions sometimes due to my Autism, just so you know, I didn´t mean to offend in any way, this was just hard for me to understand.
There's a website called M. A. I. L which is an organisation of chain maile artists. It has a library of chain maille patterns, many with tutorials, and a forum. You can register with them for free, but you can access their library and tutorials freely. You could search there, and see if one is available for this pattern. If not you can try one of the patterns tagged for beginners. As for the aspect ratio, it is an indication of what size of rings you need for any pattern to work successfully. If you look at each every library pattern page on this website at the top lefthand side the AR values for the pattern you are looking at. If you note these and go to chainmaille jump ring suppliers, every type of ring they sell will state its AR value. There's a US supplier called The Ring Lord (TLR) , and they have a page dedicated to Aspect Ratios and why they help you and me pick out the right rings for the job. The pateern demoed here isn't a beginners weave as is, and it may be useful to try out the beginner patterns on the MAIL Website so you can get used to the process. Once you understand Aspect Ratio more clearly, not only will you be able to follow weave patterns clearly and get to look right, you will be able to recreate most patterns in bigger or smaller sizes, thus changing the look. If you check out Aussie Maille's channel here on UA-cam, her demos begin with a show and tell which shows the pattern to be demonstrated in samples of various jump ring sizes. She also has lots of patterns, and you should look at the one for the videos for European 4 in 1 and the Byzantine Chain. Why? These two are beginner patterns that once learnt, will allow to make lots more patterns, and if you get the bug, know how to create your own jump rings. Not only that but European 4 in 1 can be done in lots of different ring sizes and guages, so you can ease into chainmaille whilst making different types of jewellery, and getting to grips with it. The Byzantine introduces you to making things out of units, which are small sections like this 4 Winds, that you link together to create lots of beautiful types of jewellery in which you can combine beads and crystals. The byzantine is basically a chain that is both beautiful and strong if the right size jump rings are used in making up its units. It's a show stopper of a pattern that is deceptively simple to make, and quite forgiving. There is a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, but it's worth it. You can also check out tutorials on the Beaducation channel as they have some tutorials on different techniques, and their website has lots of inspirational designs, and tutorials. Take your time, and have fun. Hope this helps.

Unlike most I like using recycled copper electrical wire 16 to 12 gage I will like to know if this in a 1\4 inch will work
