1958 DeSoto Fireflite - A Phenomenal Design!

The DeSoto nameplate first appeared in 1929. It was named for the 16th century Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto. The Chrysler Corporation introduced several models that year under the DeSoto name and continued to manufacture automobiles bearing the brand until 1961.

The restoration on this car is judges best of show quality. Gaps perfect. Chrome and paint are better than factory. The amazing interior looks all original which is rare but especially with such an unusual color trim. That's 65 year old plastic and upholstery. The guy that paid for all this work probably lost his shirt. Almost too nice to drive. Almost...

These cars weren't built to sit in a museum, same as muscle car's weren't built to just sit on a lawn at car shows, they should be at the drag strip

The paint was redone in the mid-2000s, but the chrome is actually original (as is the interior, yes). This car really wasn't restored- its a survivor. The previous owners cared a lot about it, as do I 😊

That's because your not from America you only know tiny little India cars. And you change the points to a "Petronix" and duel piston master cylinder and instill optional seatbelts, which this car came with, just ask Groucho 🥸

I'm running the original points and master cylinder. Everything works great in stock form! (PS, seat belts were not a factory option on these.)
