In the Shop: Hydraulic Hose Assembly using Gates System

Making a hydraulic hose. These are the steps we take to properly assemble a hydraulic hose using the correct components. We use Gates brand of hose and fittings, along with a Gates model 707 hydraulic hose crimper. Discussion about important points of hydraulic hose set-up.
Hose: Gates 12EFG4K. 4 wire hose 4000 psi
Fittings: Gates Global Spiral Series 3/4 Code 61. G20300-1212 or 12GS-12FL
with: Crimp Collar G20995-0412 or 12GS1F-4
Crimper: Gates model 707 with #737 die and No-Notch die cone

It is a Lenox Metal Max 14". It's better than the fiber cut-off wheel. It still makes smoke. There is a blade for cutting hydraulic hose. I might try one when this Lenox blade is worn out.

I got it through my Gates hose and fitting supplier. On ebay there are some older Gates hydraulic catalogs. The newest one being 2004 which will probably be pretty close to the 2007 book I was using in the video.
