- In Sonic Frontiers, there was a scene where Tails doubted himself because he felt like he always depended on Sonic instead of stood up for himself. But Sonic has some inspiring words for him that I think we all need to hear.

There are times like these when you're feeling down or whenever you're not having the confidence to stand up for yourself. It's not a sign of weakness if you need help, everybody is here to support you and to embrace yourself to motivate and grow. I'm no therapist when it comes to online but I do like giving constructive feedback and helping others to improve on themselves and it made me the person I am today.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. I tend to get stuck in the thought pattern that I need to take care of something on my own. It’s surprising how much lighter I feel when I let others help me.
Imagine a Sonic game where they have to face their most painful memories. It can strengthen them as characters. For example, Tails has to see himself lash out in anger and fear at everyone after Sonic was kidnapped by Infinite. Shadow has to watch Maria die again but Sonic watches it with him.
That would actually be a really cool concept. I can definitely see some more character growth developments from that
@@TheEternalSamurai Silver mentioned that Tails lost it. I think of a scene after Sonic’s capture where Knuckles tries to comfort Tails. As a response, Tails YELLS at Knuckles furiously throwing things at him and screaming at him of how it was his (Tails) fault that the world is screwed to the point where he collapses on the floor crying. Seeing this illusion makes Sonic genuinely upset and worried about the mentality of his friends.
Tails has always been my favourite character, seeing him do all those initial putdowns was really sad for me to see (I was probably as worried as Sonic)... Fortunately, in the end he came through, and just like him we all could too.
Can't wait to see where Mr. Prower will go!
Weirdly enough , this is exactly what I needed to hear.
I always feel like I have to be a champion of life , and get crushed by it's weight.
I even wanted make games that I wanted to have , even though I'm technology illiterate.
So thank you for the freedom , I can finally let go.

This is a lesson that doesn’t come easy to me either. I need to be reminded that getting help is totally okay and it’s not showing that I can’t handle life. We all can, we just need to depend on each other sometimes.

It’s something that’s not easy to do. I often need to remind myself to ask for help from other too.
I relate to Tails a lot in terms of depending on others opinions to figure whats right or wrong, making decisions for ones self is pretty difficult 😅 thank you for this one tho, it gave me a wider mindset on taking some matters into my own hands. Also props to Ian for having Tails himself point out these things, even making it into a good moral. What a madlad
Same, I often struggle with making decisions for myself when others are around. Something to constantly remind myself.

You know, thinking about my best bud, Floofy, I feel he and Tails are just mirrors of themselves in terms of personality, character, and ideals. Both have suffered from tragic backgrounds mentally and emotionally, both have self esteem issues, and just like with me and Sonic, I see myself in him, always trying to help his friends, and from one stranger to the next, no matter what. I personally feel you explored very well in depth of Tails’s character and the lesson provided here, which gave clarify in a moral sense. This just makes me appreciate the writing in Frontiers even more. God bless Ian Flynn! 💙👍🏻
Also, your in depth explanation about shortcomings perfectly describes me like around a few hours ago lol. I had taken my first chemistry exam, and let’s just say…..it didn’t do my self esteem any good, so I felt beaten at that point. I was dreading the second exam that I also had to take, but the potential possibility of another shortcoming made me afraid of it. However, my mom gave me the strength and encouragement I needed to help me push through, face my fears and to give it my all. When I finished my 2nd exam which was very recently, not to mention, I studied hours on that, to my surprise, I actually did way better than I was expecting to, and I landed a score of 92. At that point, I felt my self esteem come back and I just felt relief. It’s true that we all need help at some point in our lives. It’s not a sign of weakness at all, it’s a sign of strength and importance, recognizing that we have those who will always be there for us whenever we feel like we need them, and there’s nothing wrong with needing a guiding hand.
This comforts me as a young adult, I’ve felt the way that Tails did -w-
I love how Sonic's response to Tails venting about his frustration toward being "weak" is to remind him of all things he did accomplish in the previous games on his own without him, reminding him that he's strong in his own way. Tails got so caught up in his own insecurity that he couldn't see the inner strength that he had slowly built up ever since he met Sonic. The blue blur was the one who awakened the heroic spark within our favorite fox boy, he just needed some pushing to keep it from burning out.
Indeed, it goes to show that we sometimes need our friends to help remind us of everything we've accomplished and how worthy we are. It always gives me warm feelings to see Sonic and Tails have bro moments like that.
Its also worth noting that their basically apoligizing for how Tails was written in the Meta Era games (Lost World and Forces in particular)
I thought the same thing too. I really how they’re taking Tails’s character more seriously like back in the adventure era
This is something I needed to hear and this saying is definitely true! Sonic’s saying about asking for help is okay reminds me of another quote from a motivation edit that I did with the audio from “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse” where the boy asks “What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said” and one of the animals say to the boy “Help. Asking for help isn’t giving up. It’s refusing to give up.” Which is something I can see in both Tails and Sonic Wachowski because in the second movie Sonic would go out in the middle of the night and do things on his own and realizes that when he needed help, he had a family and friends to be there to help him.💙

Another amazing video!! Now I feel a little more comfortable watching that Tails V Chaos cutscene in Sonic Forces now lol. Jokes aside, I feel it makes a lot more sense now as to why Tails was afraid of Chaos 0. It definitely was NOT a pleasant time and everything did feel kind of hopeless in that moment. This really helps me a lot as well. It's because I usually like to do things alone, and I appreciate help from others, but whenever it's not a joyful situation, I feel like Tails when he says that he's wildly inconsistent. Especially now I'm really turning into an adult now, that pressure is just building up, but I guess it's alright getting help from others. Thanks again man. Really great life lesson!👍

Sense Metal Sonic is a dark version of Sonic, imagine if he said this to Tails.
Sonic: “It’s okay if you still need help sometimes. It’s a part of growing up.”

I love that they brought up Tails' inconsistencies and have him decide to go it alone for a while. Of course, everyone will interpret these Frontiers cutscenes differently, but my interpretation of them is that Ian Flynn and the other two writers (I can't remember their names) are acknowledging mistakes that other writers for the Sonic games have made in terms of characterisation.
Now, I still do, and always will respect opinions of others, but what shocks and baffles me is that some of the people who defend Tails in Forces somehow see the Frontiers cutscenes as working in their favour. For example, a guy on Twitter was like "the things Tails accomplished Sonic mentioned to Tails are minor in the grand scheme of things."
Like WHAT!?! seriously?
And
"When Tails says he's "wildly inconvenient", he's not entirely correct there because even in games where his character "regressed", he still did his best, and very much at that."
Was that guy high or something? 🤣 Tails IS entirely correct that he's wildly inconsistent, because prior to Frontiers, one minute he's fully capable, the next he's the opposite, he goes from loosing confidence to regaining it, then loosing it again (the cutscene in Forces where he didn't even try to pull Sonic away from the null space portal)
And a UA-camr who did a video defending Tails said in response to the Frontiers cutscenes "Someone at Sega HAD to have seen my video", which I highly doubt, considering his video was DEFENDING Tails' portrayal, and, at least to me, the cutscenes are implying that the writers are throwing shade at Forces - AKA, paying attention to the criticisms rather than the defences - what with Tails (If you refer to the diologue above) outright SHAMING himself for how he behaved in Forces.
I'm sure that if the writers were paying attention to the defenders, Tails would either not give a shit about his past behaviour, or just brush it off with something like "I'm only a kid." or "Sonic, how do you expect me to do anything without you being around, like when I thought you were dead?".
The two-tailed canine literally says "One wrong turn, and I fall apart.", implying that's he means "Why did I fall apart after just one wrong turn? That isn't me, that should never have happened!"
I've said this in comment sections of other videos, but;
See Forces Defence Squad?! Even Ian Flynn/Sega thinks that Tails sucked in Forces!
I get the intent but I would have preferred they ignore Lost World and Forces characterization all together.
