    After watching this twice, I was convinced I could do this in "10 minutes" too. But, it took 20min just to find my tape measure and still looking for my left glove. - Guess I can't.

    Nice to see someone build one of these belt grinders with nothing but a drill press, welder, and hand tools. Most of these guys on you tube build a misle silo with tolerances within a tenth of a thousandth never realizing as long as you get the rollers in the same plane and make one adjustable you are probably good to go. I hit subscribe just because of that.

    Before buying this sander I would use a rotary sander ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx3Pc2vLXfcgM5oIpF1iYcIWyFhHUC-G6v and didn't see the need for a belt sander. Boy was I wrong. this belt sander does the job quickly and gives a professional finish to the wood work.

    Brilliant build. The only thing that would make it better is a mig welder and oscillating sander so you can buff everything up nicely. Great work

      If he used a gas nozzle and didn't weld without a gas nozzle mag, the result would be better too

    Nice work but what type of motor did you use, it's HP, voltage, amps, frame type, and what kind of controller was used for that motor? Also, how did you connect it all together?

    Nice project. I was wondering , why did you use such thick material? I see lots of very similar belt sanders/grinders that work very well but are built with less thick materials. Is there a reason for what you decided to use? Thumbs Up!

      Thick material means less vibrations but he overdo it. 3/8 or 10mm is more than enough

    Nice heavy duty build with barebones tools. Ever try using a hole saw to remove weld seam in square tube? It works pretty good on DP. Lot easier than file

    Why preheat before welding, is it extremely cold where you are or are you using Low Hydrogen steel. nice build. Top job, Cheers from Michael Australia.

      First of I had a shitty flux core welder, second of it was really cold in my garage those days temperatures dropped to negative 27C

    I bought the kit from Brian and then used it to teach myself to MIG. But cutting out all the pieces without a mill or plasma cutter? Fierce.

    Great work with minimal tools. Maybe buy yourself a grinder and a flap disk and or a 1/4” air die grinder and a disk setup. Save a few hours. But still good work and great dedication bro!

      You dont really need plans , look at it for a bit and you figure it out , tolerances arent that bad either.

    Seems to be very functional. Chomped through the 3/4" square bar corner and the tool has a minimum of parts.

    Hey, was it a case of you had that thick plate, and that's why you used it. Or do you think it needs to be that heavy. I've got some 1/4 inch thick. I'm thinking that's strong enough. Might weld nuts on, or just drill out n use nuts with bolts. Y'all give me some feed back.

      I would strongly recommend to start investing in this machine, buy materials step by step, that's how I've done it. This grinder will last forever!

      Less then that, but I did have some in my shop. If I was gonna buy everything, probably would pay around 450-500 I think

    exelent work, but try more amperage on the welder... Those welds look like there is no good penetration. Just turn it up a little bit :)
